Two of the country’s four world champions Nonito Donaire, Jr. and Gerry Penalosa were the main guests of Thursday morning’s “Sports Chat” where they gave the latest about their upcoming schedules.
Donaire, now fighting under the Top Rank, Inc. banner owned by Bob Arum said he is being groomed for a possible “Battle Royale” in the super flyweight division where he may face Mexican Jorge Arce as co-main event of another championship bout pitting Cristian Mijares against Fernando Montiel.
Penalosa meanwhile is being offered a slot beneath the Joel Casamayor-Juan Manuel Marquez lightweight title showdown where he is slated to battle upstart Nestor Rocha in a bantamweight title defense.

wow this is good news especially donaire, I'll favor him against arce and on to the winner of montiel-mijares but i'd not overlook montiel based on his recent performances he has a decent chance of beating mijares

It'd be nice to have Donaire v. Mijares in the winner v. winner category, but Montiel is a very capable spoiler. I'm curious how Montiel-Arce would pan out, knowing Arce's tenacity and heart...

Btw, old man Penalosa fighting a no-name Rocha? Time isn't on his side--would be curious to see him fight Rafa or Izzy for a well-deserved retirement fight/pay. JuanMaLo wouldn't be bad too...
