it might be just as good at higher weights now that he trains properly, i do however think bj was winning the fight in the first round quite easily. He was dominating gsp like some people make out but he was beating him to the punch and was looking the better of the two. The best was for gsp to beat by is pretty much a tito/arona lay and pray as i don't think he has better subs or striking.

I think the first round of the fight was quite even. I heard all about the fight, and then watched it for myself with the sound off, and the round didn't look dominant at all. If BJ won, it was because of the blood, and probably because of the flurries. In the second round, with the blood out of his eyes, GSP was doing quite good on the feet, especially with his kicks. I don't think Penn has that much of an edge on the feet when both are at their best. And GSP is pretty much the only one capable of taking Penn down repeatedly.

I don't agree i watched it live on a stream, then the day after and have a copy of ufc 58 on my computer, i have seen the fight alot and not once have i ever thought that gsp came close to winning the first round. In general penn got the better of gsp in the fight, in pride that would have been a victory for penn, however in ufc they score takedowns to hoghly especialy when the guy taken down gets back up or is trying to sub his opponent.

I doubt that Bj Penn has a new great stamina..
he was doing a boxing fight with Sherk for 3 rounds..yes that's an improvement, but can he deal with clinch over the fence and get wrestled and hustled for 5 round of 5 minutes?
If he was to win a decision over GSP in 5 rounds, I would be ****inly impressed, because I know that GSP is gonna bring an insane pace of intensity. Nothing like Sherk did in his fight with Penn
( I don't rules out a Penn KO or sub)

Why doubt he has better stamina he looks in great shape now, where as before he was abit fat and he certainly didn't train enough to be in peak condition.

body don't always reveals the truth, I really need to see him make a complete 3 or 5 rounds of hustling to say that his cardio is way better..but if he sub gsp in the first or 2, good for him!
