I'm not making excuses, but I knew Penn was on the slide since the Edgar fights.. Frankie Edgar took something outta him, and BJ lost that hunger.

Diaz has very good boxing, but his chin might aswell be great.. His defense isn't so great, and I'm not so sure how he pulls it off.

Any Diaz avy would do my friend, and one week is good enough for me :thumbsup

He pulled it off tonight because Penn only had one round in him. Diaz did almost nothing offensively in the first, got out-jabbed or check hooked every time he pawed that sloppy rangefinding right out there, ate the counter straight right every time he threw that ugly "left hook" out there, and was beat on the ground. Had Penn come out throwing in the second like he did the first it would have been a wash but once again the Hilo Boy ate burritos rather than run hills and he didn't have **** left after a moderately paced first round.

Diaz's boxing sucks, he has no striking or takedown defense, and he wins because he has superior cardio to his opponents and/or hefights stiffs and bums. He's not going to do any better in the UFC than he did before and it will be ridiculously apparent as soon as he fights the sort of grinding wrestlers that booted him out of the UFC before.

Diaz kept baiting him into a clinch and puttin him against the cage, that **** was funny. Prime for Prime Diaz beats him in a 5 round war. Give Nick credit you hater. You should be riding his dick right now since he has an "iron" chin

Had he been in shape putting him against the fence and not even bothering to pummel wouldn't have been an effective strategy. At least when GSP decided to "put lactic acid in his shoulders" he was actually grinding him into the fence and pummeling and making him work. Nick did nothing more than pin him and sit there because he knows Penn is passive in that position.

There is little credit to be given to Nick here, other than the fact that he always comes in tip-top shape. Penn was the better boxer, the better wrestler, and the better ground technician and he gave the fight away because he cruised through one round and won in every facet and didn't have anything left to give in the second. That's pathetic. However, you're right, Nick beats him in a five round fight any time but it has nothing to do with "primes". BJ isn't that far out of his physical prime now and he was clearly the better technical fighter. It all came down to conditioning, something that Penn didn't have when he was 22 or 32.

I was expecting him to win the first two rounds the way he won the 1st but Diaz set too high of a pace for him and like you said the body shots just added to it.

A week is good enough for me, thanks for being a sport!

Like I said, I'm not gonna enforce or call for avy changes.. I put my avy on the line for 6 months.. I could care less about someone elses commitment :!:
