He might have great heart but not a master at the science. He has great balance and is a short thick framed boxer who's really hard to knock down. His skills are nowhere near JMM though and it showed in the Ponce DeLeon fight. Solid though just not elite.
I thought he made Ponce De Leon look slow and skilless. Penalosa was blocking everything and landing all the clean punches. The only reason Ponce de Leon won is cause he just threw more punches
De Leon doesnt look slow and skillless he is. Lets put it this way if he were to fight JMM, De Leon would probably rethink his career. Gonzales was outclassing Penalosa and I agree that was a sweet body punch but up until that point there was nothing coming from Penalosa his arsenal was limited.
Darchinyan would look silly against him. Agbeko would be like the DPDL sans the work-rate. Montiel would be close, but he would edge him too. (Heck, if Gorres can school Montiel, i dunno what advance schooling Gerry will give Kochulito...)
Good call he shiloild try to unify at BW, or fight Nonito next year, I'd love to see how Nonito does in comparison to Juanma
never said it did. But i don't see how making De Leon look slow and skilless is an indicator that someone is NOT a master boxer.
Don't see that happening at any time as GP and his older brother is training Donaire now. (Would be like the old Sensei v. the Star Student in them old Kungfu movies :yep).
