People actually believe Hatton is ducking Witter!?

I for one have no interest in seeing Hatton fight Witter. I am not a fan of Witters style, and recently Hattons hold and hug style has been poor to watch. This would be a stylistic snoozefest.

Hatton is a big name, has big time fame and deserves to fighting fighters of the same stature as him.

Witter is a small time fighter money wise, he does not sell and although he has an effective style and some success, there are better fights out there for Hatton.

 

Witter's reflexes and Ko's are a joy to watch.

He would counter punch Hatton's head off.

 

Not particularly - regardless of who is ducking who (if anyone) I'd just like to see this fight get made.

yes, he is ducking him for sure. while witter would not start favorite, he certainly has a chance to beat hatton with his speed and power.

and hatton has one problem: losing to mayweather is not so bad (although getting knocked out by the light puncher sure is imo), struggeling or even losing to witter would basically end his career.

and there is cash to be made.

 

I agree with the ideal behind your post,because on the face of it,it is a fair comment......but Hatton is chasing money fights as he winds up his career and Junior won't get any network excited as he has'nt the pull on the PPV.....He could fight Cotto,Oscar or even Paulie at his prefered 140 and make 4 or 5 times the money Witter would bring in......its a no-brainer for Ricky as far as I can see.

 

If he wasn't ducking Witter he would have fought him by now.

I think there is little comparison in the calling - Hatton made a tongue in cheek jibe about Mayweather, but come on, be serious, that fight wasn't made because of that! Whereas Witter has been abusing Hatton for as long as anyone can remember, to coin a Billy Graham phrase, acting like a jilted lover!

 

Hatton is not scared of Witter but he knows he can cash in on making easier fights before taking a chance with Witter. Hatton must believe he has the beating of Witter even if many others have it pretty close either way.

 

I would back him to beat Witter, but there are easier fights for more reward, such as Paulie Malignaggi, who is 2008's version of Jeff Lacy - overrated American.

 

BB I don't think Lacy was over rated... I've seem most of his fights and he was pretty sensational. He may be ruined now but pre Joe Calzaghe he was going places. Malgianni is poo-poo though really don't rate him or find him good to watch.

 

I can not believe that there would be such a thing as overrated and American.
