    That means nothing.

It is when you begin to get all cocky on a prediction and you start mocking everyone that you implode.

Quite soon you're going to give me a sword. And I'll stick it in, and twisted it with relish.

I think we're all a lot wiser about Alexeev today than we were a couple weeks ago. The Russian had the pedigree, the power, and skills until his one major ***** in his armor got exposed by an opponent that didn't fit his style. He couldn't adjust because he was completely clueless about fighting on the inside.

I picked Alexeev to beat the Argentine, figuring he was in a completely different class but apparently Alexeev was skipping class when it came to infighting.

Alexeev's stamina wasn't the problem in this fight. The problem was he was getting beaten up badly anytime Ramirez was inside his comfort range.

I totally disagree with you, marting. Alexeev was totally out of puff after 6-7 rounds. The Russian's horrifying lack of stamina was the decisive factor for his surprising loss against the relatively unknown Argie.
Alexeev proved again and again that he can cope with fighters of Ramirez's class at the amateurs. Actually,he beat much better fighters than Ramirez at the amateurs.
Alexeev would have easily won his encounter with Ramirez if he had survived the last round somehow.I for my part scored 7 out of the first 8 rounds in favour of Alexeev.
Nah! Alexeev wasnt ready to fight 10 rounds.Too many too easy ko victories.Ramirez is a teak tough cookie with an iron beard and pop in his fists.A classy fighter couldnt go the distance.
Anyway! I would still bet my house that Alexeev beats Adamek.......................in a six round fight.:D

By the way Odo, it was for a title and thus a 12 round fight. Which shows you just how much of a mistake Universum made.

Ts! Ts! My bad! Have had little time at my disposal recently.

I thought that Alexeev vs Ramirez was a 10 round fight.

Alexeev wouldnt have made it to the final round.Thats for sure! I even doubt that he would have made it throughout the entire 10th round.
Sdunek, his coach, rightfully gave up the fight! It didnt make any sense to watch Alexeev lying in the ring dust.

By the way rewatch the fight and have a close look at Alexeev's corner during the last few ring breaks!

Alexeev should never have fought more than 8 rounds at this stage of his career.
WEll, on the other hand it was probably a very good lesson and learning experience for the former Russian amateur star.
