  2. You are all sad *******s.... getting so worked up about a guy promoting his up coming fight.

Do you guys really think he cares if you think he won't become the p4p no1 ..... If he wins he will become the hottest property in boxing and and be earning Golden Boy type of money everytime he steps in the ring

He already earns stupid money because gullable fans fall hook, line and sinker for his bull**** "one of the lads" spiel and ridiculous overplaying of his own importance and "exciting" style he comes out with every ****in interview.

He's a clever businessman and a decent fighter.

He'd be insanely good, the next Alan Sugar I would think. He seems to go by the theory "if I say something enough times people will start to believe me and line my pockets".

I could imagine him fooling suppliers and shareholders alike with his spiel.

    :rofl

He is almost so thick he is smart, if you get me.

A potential customer wouldn't think he would have the gumption to actually fool someone.

I don't think he is anymore stupid than the average man on the street. I think is just selling the fight, and giving it this P4P angle. I'm pretty sure that even if at first he did believe the P4P was a trasnferable title, someone would have had a word in his ear and explained that it wasn't.

It's just a marketing ploy, IMO. And if he does win, we will all instantly be able to differentiate the fans from the fools, with the later speaking of Hatton in the context of "P4P Champ".

This :deal Whoever would have thought we'd persistently get multiple page threads out a bit of hype for a fight! This time 12 months ago, they were hyping Enzo Mac up to be the second best cruiserweight in the world! It's what TV channels (and fighters in their interviews) do, get over it!

Precisely. It's all just a bit of exaggerated marketing to sell the fight. Though he probably does think he would have a good shout if he beat the existing #1, having twice beaten p4p fighters before including the #3 and with the only man to beat him at a higher weight now retired. I personally would still rank Hopkins, Marquez and maybe a couple of others above him. But it is wholly subjective after all.

Just out of curiousity do you run your own business? Not trick a question, just wondering. If I was to employ someone to help me out I would rather have someody that talks up my products in a clumsy fashion than somebody giving an articulate evaluation that it plays it down.

My local pub describes itself as the 'best live music venue in south wales'. It clearly isn't. "Respectable venue that puts on half decent cover bands' is a more accurate description but would be commercial suicide.

    No I don't.

However....... I am effectively running half of a demolition/earthworks company for a friend of mine, and know that someone that comes across in a way that Hatton does wouldn't last ten minutes.

In some instances, the full sales pitch does work - such as boxing (and sports generally) but in construction you would have to be pretty silly (or desperate) to be taken in by any kind of sales buff without doing your share of research into what they are offering.

In fact, these days you can pretty much tell the salesman what you are getting and how much you are paying for it. After all, they are desperate to stay in a job and will bend over backwards to get your custom.

thats basically bang on!Everything he says is designed to make more money.....he would have to be a ****** to believe he is actually fighting for the P4P title
