    about how Margo punches.

Margarito is the type of fighter that needs distance to throw his punches. Mosley gave him very little space to throw. Williams did best when he was fighting on the inside. Clottey did well by fighting in the pocket as well.

Cotto got demolished because he gave margo enough space to let his shots off and get power from them. Margarito has power and throws a lot of different punches but he isn't really a crisp accurate, compact puncher. Notice when people give margo no space, he can't do ****.

I heard someone say "Margo's punches didn't seem to have **** in the mosley fight because he probably didn't have his wraps". I'm glad mosley won but that statement is bull****. Mosley simply didn't give margo the room to land his bombs. Watch the clottey fight or williams fight - margo didn't look like he had any power either. Stop giving too much credit to this ****ing caste-wrap situation.

I agree somewhat with your assesment he's an inside fighter but he never threw any short compact punches most are wide looping shots about the only true inside punch he has is the uppercut. Mosley fought a brilliant fight stratigically clinching Margo and breaking up his rhythm.

Plan your work, work your plan..

and Mosley's Plan work. I give credit to Naazim for this performance. Margo is simply one dimensional and never adjusted to Mosley's style

no i'm saying that margarito is more of an outside puncher. He's aggressive but he has a taller lankier body that works better from the outside. And I also stated that margo isn't really a short, compact puncher like most insider fighters are.

I couldn't disagree more. Margo isn't a outside fighter to be an outside fighter you need a jab he has no jab. Margo is a tall fighte but he wants to be on the inside and work the body and will eat punches to get there. He's good on the inside as long as he's fighting someone with no movement who will just stand there, someone who can't take his punch that's about it. If he fights someone with great handspeed or good counter punching and movement he's lost.

Yeah, he didnt really land on Mosley, and when he did it was cut short, or rolled with well(not bullshitting, Mosley rolled with a couple of those shots)

Lets do the right thing and give Mosley the shitload of credit he deserves, and is for the most part getting anyway.

Confusing true inside fighting. Inside fighters want to bury their face in their opponents chest. Look at fighters like tyson, frazier, toney. Margarito chops people down a little bit further away. He is actually a little more effective when he's given a couple feet of room, although he does tend to drop his head when throwing, thus making it seem a little further. He's not really a typical outside fighter, but he's not really a typical inside fighter as well.

Ok I see your point. Margo does need some space and isn't like Hatton right in your chest.

Margarito's specialty is known as the "loop". A large portion of his punches have an arc to them and come off as hooks or uppercuts. Sometimes he will jab in a straight line, but he likes being close enough to land these looping punches. He throws in volume and works best against a stationary target. Cotto laying on the ropes for him and not clinching was the perfect recipe for disaster.

Margarito is a "mid-range" fighter. There really isn't a term for it in the boxing lexicon, everyone's corralled into the black and white "in" or "out".

A good analogy would be, Marg is ineffective in the paint and behind he arc, but has a great 15-foot jumpshot. :good

sugar had the perfect game plan, stay infront of margo (in range) and stay busy

the kistake cotto made was fight on the back foot which was a big no no
