Berto is a bad opponent for Mayweather but for a last fight it is what it is.

For all the slack Berto gets all around he rates higher than Thurman,Brook,Khan,GGG,Lara's ect last opponent and would be a top 3/5 win on all of there resumes.

Yes and he looked perfectly fine against Dan , so how long is that machete excuse going to last :lol:. And Gavin proably deserves to be ranked inbetween the top 100-200 ww's at this point. One of the biggest bums of all time, Berto knocks him out in 3.

I agree that Brook has had bad opposition since Porter. But as I said before the gulf in class between Mayweather and Berto is ridiculous. And the 49-0 is incredibly relevant, especially since his main selling point is that he's undefeated.

It doesn't mean a thing to people who actually follow boxing, only casuals who only buy Pac/Floyd PPV's and dont even remember the name of their opponents. Do you really think Floyd wouldn't get criticized if he fought Brook/Thurman/Khan? If he fought Brook, they'd say Brook has fought absolute dog **** besides Porter, and is coming off fighting 2 bums, if he fought Thurman, they'd say Thurman looked horrible against collazo(which is complete bs), and Khan they'd say he almost lost to Algieri. Again I'll repeat myself do I prefer all of these fights? OBVIOUSLY, by a huge margin, but none of these guys does anything for his ATG ranking.

I think it matters to people who follow boxing. Most boxing followers would watch those other fights at least to see how Floyd deals with something like Khans speed etc. Yeah people would criticize him for the match-up as they'll criticize anybody he fights. I don't know, it just makes me a little sad that his 49th fight is Berto, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Brook just fought Jo Jo Dan?? Thurman had Callazo, and Khan, Algeri. Berto would a a step up in comp and would be a top 3 win on Brook,Thurman,&Porter's resume. GGG has fought 1 Champ ever, a Berto would be the most accomplished guy he's fought next to Geale.

Only difference is One us at the end with multiple world class win's, these new guy's barley have 1 decent win and are fighting below that level.

Mayweather-Berto is a bad fight no question but Berto is still better than what alot of guys are doing.

The issue here is that he's undeserving of the opportunity, not whether or not he can be competitive against Floyd.

But, on the topic of his competitiveness, Berto's shot and hasn't looked good in several fights.

Do you have comprehension problems? Obviously anyone would rather see Thurman/Brook/Khan/Porter/Bradley over Berto. That's not the point :patsch, please learn how to comprehend. Real boxing fans dont give a **** about Floyd's "49th" win, and I doubt it makes you sad because you're obviously a khan fan boy. You'd find a way to criticize Mayweather no matter what.

I'm honestly surprised how much people care. Conversely, I'm also somewhat surprised at how little I care.

I don't see the reason for you to try to criticize me personally. Just trying to have a discussion :good. Real boxing fans would rather watch someone at the very least who would be interesting on a technical level(why I mention Khan, although Lara would also be good for this). And casual fans would rather him take someone they've actual heard of for his 49th fight.

Oh and Khan fanboy. no way. Mayweather beats him easy and most likely knocks him out. It would just be more interesting to see how.

". Real boxing fans would rather watch someone at the very least who would be interesting on a technical level(why I mention Khan, although Lara would also be good for this)."

Yes, and how many times would you like me to repeat this? Jesus christ .
And for this " And casual fans would rather him take someone they've actual heard of for his 49th fight. ":patsch:patsch". I really dont think they give a ****, do casual fans even know who rocky marciano is? do they even know the difference between a berto/thurman/brook? doubt it.
Since you clearly want me to repeat myself I will, As people who actually follow the sport we know Berto is a **** fight, and we'd rather see him fight against Thurman/Brook/Khan/Bradley etc.
