At completely different phases of their careers than when Lacy and Dawson fought them, respectively. Sheika was already shot by the time he fought Lacy, having lost 4 of his last 6, while Johnson completely changed his fighting style after losing 6 of 8 and went on to clear out the 175 pound weight class.

    Have you?

Calzaghe actually won by altering his game from his usual flurry-style inside pressure, to potshotting Kessler from outside.

Pressure - you must have seen another fight.
    Workrate, yes.
    Speed, yes and no.
Tt was more an outsmarting. Offcourse Calzaghe´s faster than Kessler, but I was actually surprised that kessler was kinda´up there speedwise.

He looks damn slow, positioning himself in the ring with that stiff appearance, but his combo speed is kinda wicked. I agree with your assessment that Dawson ain´t no Lacy but I guess, to be fair, kessler ain´t no Adamek either, a name you by some reason keep mentioning as Dawson´s blueprint to beat Kessler.
Dawson has skills and qualities but i am not sure if he could take the clean shots from kessler that Calzaghe took.

And you once again prove that you know **** all about boxing.

You have the balls you compare Robin Reid to Antonio Tarver??? The same Antonio Tarver that KO'd Roy Jones in 2 rounds?? The same Tarver that beat Reggie Johnson, Glen Johnson, Eric Harding, Montell Griffin and Clinton Woods?? The same Tarver that is a 3 time Light Heavyweight Champion??? You compare him to Robin Reid who beat.... Who did Robin Reid ever beat??? Oh and Reid was close to shot when Lacy fought him Tarver on the other while past it isn't that far past it.

Glen Johnson to Omar Sheika??? You called Johnson a journey men so right then and there your whole reputation(what little one you had) was lost.

Tomaz Adamek to Syd Vanderpool??? You compare Vanderpool who has never had a good win in his career to a former WBC Lightheavyweight Champion and possibly the next undisputed Cruiserweight Champion??? Are you ****in stupid??? And Adamek is beatable??? Well who the **** isn't and so far Adamek's only lose is to Dawson.

I understand that you really really like Joe Calzaghe and that you boxing knowledge outside of that is very limited and thats ok but don't sit here trying to talk about **** that you clearly have to ****in clue what you are talking about.

Tarver, Johnson and Adamek would be top 5/ top 10 wins on Joe Calzaghe's 46 fight resume. Dawson racked up those wins in only 27 fights.

Johnson CLEARLY got ROBBED in that fight. If you had seen it you wouldn't have brought it up. You're a good poster, Bodysnatcher, but that wasn't a good reference. Omar Sheika is definately no Glen Johnson.

Rofl, what a tool pugilistictwat is.

Lacy's resume is vastly inferior to Dawson's, and his boxing skills are equally inferior.

Clinton woods is a British boxer who is a clear cut above Reid, and Woods probably ranks behind Tarver.

You move to fast - he DID win the fight with the tangbibles I referred to. That's not to say he did so generically or exclusively, but he did so literally. You cannot say he didn't apply pressure, he unquestionably did. I'm well aware of the hunting and pecking method that Calzaghe reverts to when he feels like he has to step up. I referred to it here in great detail yeterday.

Not to mention that Tarver just squashed Woods while both were only a year or two off their primes.

Dawson had big problems with Glen Johnson and in many opinions lost the fight.

Adamek was a good win, but if you watched his previous fights, you'd know Adamek has a bad defence and gets hit a lot.

Tarver has looked crap recently (imo. he is shot).

Those 3 fights are Chad Dawsons key victories, I'd say he is being hyped up quite a bit on that basis similar to what Jeff Lacy was.
That being said I too think Dawson is much better than Lacy, but let's see how far he gets, he has a bad habbit of getting KD'ed in his fights.
