Very good post but even though Hopkins and Mayweather are great fighters, the four fighters i will always remember from this era are the Fab Four II.

    Pac
    Barrera
    Morales
    JMM.

    Definitely.

Nostalgia is a real ***** at times. I just think the state of the HW division gives people an excuse to criticise this generation of boxers.

No matter what Mayweather goes on to do this year, Manny Pacquaio is the figher of the noughties for me.

an ATG list that has only sweet pea and chavez in their top 30 list is bias towards this era...

you dont think marquez's fights against pacman was greater than tito beating vargas?

marquez's 'curse' is only missing out on those close decisions, apart from that he's still one of the most gifted fighters of this era who was very poorly managed for a long time and suffered because of it.

and why should you mention hopkins - pavlik and leave out marquez - casamayor?

Calzaghe's stock will DE-PRECIATE with time because his resume is so weak. In the decades to come he will be thought of as on par with guys like Winky and Tszyu, not on the same level as Pacquiao and Hopkins.

Got your PM amigo, have replied. :good

Who criticizes this era? No one really. The only thing people criticize about this era is the Heavyweight division . . . and rightfully so.

Lest you forget Paul Williams also fights at Middleweight - amongst the many divisions he fights at - which brings skill in abundance to the table. I'm not gonna go so far as to say those other two chaps have no skill, they're just a lil' one dimensional.

pac and Jr could become all-time-greats....if pac beats jr he would be top 20 ALL TIME in my view. I dont know why hopkins is there....he certainly overated it seems
