People didn't talk about splits for Mayweather vs Maidana, why do they for AJ vs Wilder?

That's not quite the way I view it. People WERE talking about the split between Mayweather and Pac. That, of course, was the biggest fight that could be made in all of boxing. Joshua-Wilder is the best fight that can be made in the marquee weight class (at least until Fury returns). So comparing it to Floyd-Maidana, is not quite right, I think.

Surely you can appreciate paquiao had a history of selling ppv's and a lot of them as well as selling out big venues so he had leverage to work with.

    Wilder has a belt.

That's a fair point. Wilder isn't the draw Pacquiao was. But still, eliminate Fury from the equation until he actually returns, and what's the biggest heavyweight fight that can be made? Joshua vs Wilder is head and shoulders the best heavyweight title fight that can be made.

It might not be a perfect analogy with Floyd-Pac, but surely the fight is more significant than Floyd-Maidana.

Well not strictly all true .... the basis of it is yes, but the first fight Mayweather wanted after going solo was De La Hoya. He wanted to be the number one, De La Hoya was the golden child, favourite of the promoter and Mayweather had to play second fiddle to him. I think Mayweather started off with the intention of gaining glory and legacy but once he had that it was about the money... AJ will go down the same path I reckon once he has achieved all he can he will be in the sme boat. AJ has never been shy to acknowledge he is also in the this business to make big wonga.

Difference is that in your example DLH was the bigger star, and that's usually what boxers go after. Floyd needed DLH to become the next DLH, like Wilder needs Joshua to maybe become the next Joshua.
Joshua doesn't need Wilder to become the next Joshua, because he already is Joshua. He probably needs Wilder (if he still holds the belt at the time) to expand to Pac, DLH or even Floyd levels, but he doesn't need him yet. Fan pressure only does so much, like Floyd has shown us by waiting 5+ years until basically it was too late but still made an extreme amount of money.

Wilder fans are exactly that: Wilder fans; not fans of boxing.

They will discredit and mock any opponent at a second's chance. Rules don't apply for them, everything is pro-Wilder. When he loses they will abandon him and find someone else to dick ride.

They are the new cancer to boxing communities. I am not saying all Wilder fans are like this, only 99% of them.

true but he knew beating the best would create a legacy for him and a platform to then go on and do what he did. The fight against DLH wasnt just out of money it was also ego, and to define him as a household name. DLH was also the majority of peoples no1 at the time. My arguement is more on the basis that people dont think money is as big a factor to AJ as "legacy" it very much is just as important to him he has spoke about it quite a few times in interviews.

AJ is the one in power, its something you have to accept even if they abuse their power and low ball, 12.5 mill is still a **** load of money and while i would like to see wilder get a better split if they are not willing to do so it should not get in the way of making the fight happen, Beating AJ and becoming undisputed champion should be more important than the money at this point.

This is only the first offer as well don't forgot, chill out the first offer is always the worst.

The PPV market is in the UK now , not the US so its an invalid compassion.

Spence done an extremely low 650K views on regular TV against Peterson but he fought a huge PPV against Brook in the UK and got his fair share of the pot.
Spence is not a draw but that doesn't effect his worth. You can't compare the two markets as they are vastly different.

Spence was a mandatory so he would of got his 25% whether Brook and Hearn wanted to pay him that much or not.

He obviously got a share of the PPV money. Same as GGG who was not a PPV fighter at the time.

Why is Hearn denying Wilder a cut of the box office?

Yes and no. People really need to stop acting like he’s a megastar. He could get there someday, but just because Eddie Hearn sells the TV rights to Suriname for $50 bucks doesn’t mean that every Surinamese person is buzzing about Anthony Joshua. Hell I doubt most Nigerians actually know who he is
