Apparently in the world of MMA, this is possible.

I think Joe and Enzo did purchase boxing tapes in order to learn the sport....of course Joe had some AM experience......but I recall hearing that Enzo purchased a "how to" boxing vid or book and taught Joe.

Two ways to view his career....he slapped his way to winning a number of world championships against mostly B to B+ level opposition and aging legends or.....Joe had a stellar career beating two American legends, defending his title a record number of times and never lost.

I think he's somewhere in the middle.
