Ward has also yet to beat a top undefeated fighter.
I doubt it will be too long before Ward is not mentioned too much and someone else appears, and this conversation appears again until they lose.
Many just struggle with the fact that Calzaghe beat American legends and the best SMWs America had during his era. I expect Calzaghe would have been liked more by these same people had he lost to Lacy.

 

Nothing about. Joe says he beats Ward convincingly can he win a Decision sure but he wasn't a KO puncher against elites hell he couldn't KO shot ones and the best fighter he faced that was close to their prime was Kessler ...and Ward beat him with ease ..

You are comparing old, end of career Calzaghe beating young prime undefeated Kessler, to young Ward beating faded, already beaten, unwell, double vision suffering Kessler, who had not been overly active at that time.
You also fail to note how old Calzaghe looked better against prime Bika than prime Ward did against faded rusty Bika.

 

A prime one does no better since he never fought an elite fighter in their prime ...I love hearing stories about Joe's great ring IQ against journeymen and his incredible work rate agains B level guys !
