The rematch clause and weight for the rematch was agreed to before the first fight. Not after it. So he didn't demand anything that both sides didn't know about and agree to a whole year in advance.

So, had Floyd lost the first, he theoretically could have gained an advantage to drain Oscar for a rematch. Good for him not needing to do that and good for him not taking the fight.

What the f is the point? They fight once at 154 and Floyd won.. It doesn't matter if Floyd wanted the fight at 140 and the rematch at 135.. The only thing that needs to be known it'd that they fought at 154, Floyd won, and that's all.. You can try to add more extra stuff in between, but it's irreverent...

He barely beat Oscar not decisively. Wasn't it a split dec?? Floyd knew he was lucky to get the nod Wouldn't risk it again

ROFLMAO How come you don't know Floyd only "retires" or steps away as you call it when things start to get hot for him like Margarito breathing down his chicken neck

Once again, people not paying attention to what DOES ACTUALLY HAPPEN, instead clinging to out-of-the-ring happenings in attempts to build up or discredit their fighter of choice... weak.

Who cares if it's a SD...?

Wasn't Whitaker vs. Chavez a Draw? Does that really mean it was a close, debatable fight? Of course it wasn't...

Even Floyd sr said " My son lost that fight" Floyd has had 3 or 4 lucky dec go his way. He's not really an unbeaten fighter Now Rocky Marciano was REALLY undefeated no gift dec & ref bias for Rocky

Hahahahah, "3 or 4 lucky dec" who the hell do you think you're fooling? Trying to reshape history for someone who tracks down this forum 20 years from now? Everyone can go back and rewatch all of his fights. And when they do, guess how foolish you look?

I'd love for you to tell me which fights and which rounds in those fights you scored against Mayweather, though. Thanks!

As for your last statement, Rocky Marciano is known to have gotten a "gift decision" over Roland LaStarza in their first fight. Actual boxing writers, fellow pro boxers, as well as fans agreed on that. Nice try to look like you know what you're talking about, though. And to those who are looking to score fights against the champions, they could have said that Ezzard beat Marciano, too (and it would be less of a stretch than your "3 or 4 lucky dec" sentiment above).

  12. Possibly. He did win handily, so its no worse than Pacquiao ducking a Marquez rematch. But I'd say he didn't want to risk it.
I think "Yes" will be the consensus once this thread really gets going

Floyd almost lost in their fight. The score card result were close and the other judge score it for Oscar. Floyd doesn't want to go through again those hairline escape. It much like 100x worst than Pac who already fought JMM twice and beat him twice to consider Pac ducking him.

At least you are consistently poor at following set scoring criteria.

Why are you repeating the line that Floyd Snr said while in a publicly bitter stretch of time with his son, knowing that he trained Oscar and they got along, and knowing that Snr's seat was provided by Oscar for the fight...

And what then do you make of Floyd Snr's assertions since then that his son defeated Oscar and has never deserved to lose a decision in his career?

    ?

First Pac/JMM fight was officially a Draw.

There were loads of fellow boxing trainers, fighters, and writers who scored each of those first two fights to JMM. You cannot say that about Mayweather/Oscar. Bad comparison...
