If you hate Wilder, you should be amped for this fight. Arreola exposed Seth Mitchel for being ass at boxing. If Wilder is as bad as many of you think he is, Arreola will probably beat the tar out of him.

I am NOT a Wilder hater, and will be tuning in because imo any Wilder fight is a fun fight to watch. Heres to hoping he squashes Arreola, looks good doing it, and gets a big name fight next.

    Good post.

Short notice, small budget, and availability.

I'm sure wilder would have been happier with Washington, and the fans happier with Pulev.

    But, like you say.
    Arreola blitzkrieged Mitchell.

If Wilder is as bad as some of us believe, Arreola might just have one last moment of glory.

Even if wilder somehow comes off the canvas to win

wilder fighting anther bum i knew the povetkin fight was too good to be true

when you get knocked out by the likes of stiverne who nearly lost to a 40 year old ray and lost to some other fight and recently got dropped and s****ped through to win against a gatekeeper you are horrible lol

You are talking about a fight in 2013. We are in 2016. Arreola hasn't beaten anyone of note in 3 years. He doesn't have an official win for the past 15 months. There's absolutely no justification for this fight. I don't know if this will be a world title fight since I don't know how WBC can go so low to insert Arreola in the top 15, then again it's WBC.

Arreola was top with his W over Kaufman, but he was suspended, and like his suspension, his removal from their rankings, only temporary

    Come on!
Seth Mitchell was basically a Price without the gamechanging power.
Most here predicted the KO1, which wasn't exposing but the final nail in the coffin

    Good thread.:good
Arreola is a serious SERIOUS threat.
And he destroyed the amazing Seth Mitchell just the other day.
And of course he deserves to be rated #1 contender in all ratings, but they suspended him for smoking weed.

If Wilder can get past Arreola even his harshest critics have to bow down to him.

That's a No Decision fight - which means Arreola doesn't have an official win in 15 months. There's absolutely no way he can be ranked in the top 15. That's just pure corruption.

Needing a robbery to get past Inflated Pavlik shouldn't earn anyone a title shot.

his last 3 fights before his stiverne stoppage loss fights were harper/kassi /kaufman
3 top 100 fighters and you could not really tell the difference between arreola and the other 3 which is about where arreola currently is a top 50 to 100 gatekeeper.

Arreola is not the same fighter he was a few years ago. This is a disgraceful pick for a title defense, no getting around it. I still have hope for Wilder, but am massively disappointed in him. Probably not going to pay much attention to him until he fights a decent opponent.

Wilder's record is inflated as much as butterbeans. Only difference is everyone knew butterbean was a gimmick.

I agree. He should taken the Povetkin fight. Now Wilder career will stall while he fights a NO HOPER like Arreola. I mean the man was beat by Kaufman! Wilder shouldn't be surprised with his low ratings. Let's be honest Wilder will only go so far.

Ehhh....Arreola wasnt that bad few years ago,he was solid contender, but now his punch ressistance is completely GONE.

It absolutely doesnt matter if he will get in shape or not,20-30lbs will make no difference when his punch ressistance is gone and actually if he losses weight he will be even more chinny and less power, may be bit more stamina, still useless,he got few gifts last few fights, completely done, journeyman level right now.

Never thought he'd still be able to cherry pick at this stage. ...he has a lot to thank povetkin for.
