Bob like all other promoters have no loyalty towards the fighters they promote and they will throw their number 1 fighter under the bus once they see something better or if they are no longer useful for them. In the past it was Pacquiao for Bradley and it backfired, Donaire was supposed to be Bobs replacement for Pacquiao until Rigondeaux beat him but once Bob realized that americans will never like Rigo he benched him. Last night Bob had a chance to bring in a new money maker that will potentially give him ppv money in the future and he organized everything for that to happen. Loma is 32 from Ukraine with a busted shoulder and americans will not buy a ppv with him there, Teofimo is 23 from Brooklyn with a big mouth which americans love so Bob has a self promoter with Teo. How many fights like last night would go to a draw when stakes were high? Most of them, just like it should have went last night but Bob has bigger plans, Teo will get endorsements and has NYC backing him so ESPN and Bob are scheming right now.
So. Many. Excuses. I am beginning to wonder if Wilder fanboys were ever actually fans of Wilder?.... Because you Lose-a-chenko's fangirls are a zillion times worse!
I've posted as much 10+ years ago here and many criticized me - as if I said the moon is made of green cheese. Boxing, like all sports, is part of the entertainment business. More to the point, many years ago I read that sports are a little bit like pro wrestling. It's not that the teams or single participants in 1on1 sports like boxing are throwing the game or fight. But it's obvious that the referees, umpires, judges, whatever the sport uses to control the sport, sometimes shade their calls toward one side or "manage" the competition to get a favored result. Why? Because it's a BUSINE$$ that at the top levels involves lots of MONEY. And most humans* can be corrupted or bought off - if the $$$$$ is right. * And if you don't play along, they'll find someone who will !
