if he's that good, punches like a heavyweight and fighting bums what's his excuse for not finishing his opponents.

Rigo really doesn't care about being popular.

Yeah, people are quick to throw Arum and HBO under the bus here, but nobody can really argue that Rigo's been doing everything he can to earn more fans. Rigo cares only about winning. He's not going to take risks and he's not doing anything outside the ring to sell himself to boxing fans.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that- it's Guillermo's choice and he's a phenomenal talent. It's working for him. But damn, it gets old seeing everyone point the finger at everyone else to explain why he doesn't have more fans.

Foreign fighters have to do more to build a fanbase here- fair or not, that's just how it is. That doesn't mean convert to a face-first brawler; but taking a few more calculated risks in the ring against overmatched opponents, making some appearances for charities, trying to learn a little English, all those things add up. If Rigo's not concerned with that aspect of it, his actions are saying he's OK with his current level of support. And if he's OK, people shouldn't ***** so much about it.

"It's hard to be boring and dominate at the same time"

I did not find Guillermo Rigondeaux boring, I found him masterful. I love to watch such a high-end boxer do his thing.

What I love about Rigondeaux is how he effortlessly moves with his opponent, ALWAYS. One half step forward and he's in range, one half step back and he's in range. His opponents cant cut him off, nor have him too far out to be punched.

And when they do punch, you can be sure a counter comes.

Yeah man. Thats how I felt too. He made it look easy. Wicked head movement and Handspeed. The people behind me were like I never heard of rigo... Worst fight of the night and then they just left at the end of 2. I was like mmm 80+ for a ticket to just leave? Idk. But it was pretty sick to watch in person. Hope he fights on the east coast again relatively near me. I would go again

If Rigo was American he'd be the greatest thing ever. Pathetic the attitude Dan Rafael and the rest take towards him.

People are forgetting the business side of this. It doesn't matter how great you are if no one cares to see you fight. The handful of die hard fan won't make him the money he wants. The majority of the people who shell out money to attend an event are more than casual fan and they were leaving in drove.
