He is in his 4th weight class and has fought as high as 54. Has never hit the canvas. Nothing is wrong with his chin. If he was getting rocked in his natural weight class (130) then there would be room for debate.

a 'bad chin' is an often incorrect and misused term. a lot of times when boxers are ko'd it can be a shot to the temple for instance can do it.
'poor punch resistance' is maybe a better term.

Why was Khan all over the place against Willie Limond and Julio Diaz then?

We have too many people on here that don't know anything about Chins. It is always an excuse when a fighter gets KOed it is never that they have a Glass Jaw. We have people on here still saying Khan has a decent Chin :roflatsch

And no Iron Chinned fighters don't get KOed the way Margarito did against Mosley. Margarito had a very good Chin but it wasn't an Iron Chin. If it was he would not have gotten KOed like he did against old man Mosley.

 

Maybe you should hook up with Mosely, then we can see how good your chin is when he lands a few good right hands.

 

couldn't agree more with the bold but I have to disagree about iron chinned fighters being impossible to ko. every single fighter in history is susceptible to being stopped. everyone can only take so much and its usually due to stamina being gone when iron chinned fighters being stopped.

khans chin isn't as bad as people claim. those Prescott shots and Garcia shots were vicious and I don't know who would had stood up to them. khans biggest problem is not knowing wtf to do when hurt, the idiot tries to fight fire with fire instead of regrouping by holding until his head is someone clear.

for me a glass chin is someone who gets hurt by shots and cant get up. I cant even think of a true glass chin right now for any top tier fighter. give me a few mins and I'll prob come up with some true glass chinned top fighters

 

I respectfully disagree, Khans problem is one stage prior to that. Its his lack of IQ coupled with poor chin and obviously bravado which leads to his down fall.

Kahn vs Prescott - Khan throws a lead uppercut from the outside against a monstrous puncher with huge reach.....what kind of idiot does that?

Khan vs Garcia - Garcia was throwing home run left hooks throughout, he threw about 12 in the first round alone. Stevie Wonder could see what Garcia was up to, Khan took no notice of this at all. Plus when he punches, he drops his hands, this is THE most schoolboy error in boxing. He got caught by Garcia, by a well timed punch, Garcia studied Khan like a book.

Khan vs Diaz - Same as above, drops his hands after he punches.

That **** might work in the amateurs, not in the pro game, unless you have the reflexes of Jones, Whitaker or Hamed.

 

I think this is closer to the truth. If you hit anybody in the right place with enough power they will go over. They might get back up or have shaky legs but anybody who is tagged in the right place will go down.

 

that's pretty much what I meant, khan doesn't have the know how to handle bad situations and yes he does dumb ****. I just don't think his chin is absolute glass like people claim, good ? hell no but he has taken his fair share of shots that should had stopped or dropped any glass chinned fighter.

his ring iq had been horrible but I think he turned the corner. I think he might be fighting the ghost next, I don't like that fight for him but it will tell us everything we need to know about this khan

 

Not a big fan of Ghost, until i watched the fight with the Japanese dude.

They just beat the **** out of each other, definitely fight of the year.

Guerrero will be a good test for Khan.

 

that fight was brutal and made me love both them fighters. I hated ghost with a passion 100% due to his idiot pops but that fight had me voting for him. great great brutal toe to toe battle
