He's a top 10 heavyweight, and a once elite one, but now?

I'm seeing people call him the danger man and put him in their top 3's, what is this based on? Knocking out David Price??

In my opinion a loss to him would be a terrible result for AJ, albeit it is a much smaller man, which Joshua has previously shown signs of struggle with (Takam).

When the fight was announced it didn't excite me at all and I expect a comfortable AJ victory

In what single second of the 10 utter mismatch rounds did you see AJ "struggle" with Takam, that was a very easy light sparring session for AJ. If one doesn't blow one out in a round or two that's a struggle to some clowns ?

Povetkin has proven he's the tiniest bit better than Takam. Or really I little less weak than takam

We know better after his fight with Anthony Joshua.

Joshua is the gold standard for the heavyweight division now. I can rate Wilder and Fury at his best confidently
in the top 3 with Joshua as the number 1.

Ortiz, Whyte, Parker and Povetkin are following.

This is definitely a tough fight for AJ. Povetkin is going in there with nothing to lose and everything to gain, while AJ's mind is more clouded with the DAZN deal, Wilder fight and not boring the fans again.

I wouldn't advise calling other people clowns when you're displaying the tendancies of one within the very same post pal.

If you opened your eyes you'd have seen he struggled to put Takam away, of that there is no doubt. Even the stoppage itself was premature. Common sense might have told you I wasn't at all saying it was a struggle to win. But it was a struggle to finish him off. Stop jumping to conclusions in your own head, clown

I could make the same argument and ask why are Wilder and AJ rated so high?

For beating an ANCIENT Wlad? For beating Parker who lost to Whyte, a glorified journeyman?

Wilder managed to finally overcome his first legit opponent in Ortiz, and now people are making out that he hasn't fought utter garbage his entire career. Yeah, can't wait till Stiverne iii

The HW scene sucks right now and even OLD Povetkin is comfortably in the top 3.

Struggling to put a fighter away is the opposite of a struggle. My lord ignorance is bliss, still?

AJ and Wilder are above him on my list too.

The others have inferior records. Fury has yet to demonstrate he's returned to a credible level. Whyte is improving but lacks Povetkin's experience. Parker has failed twice in succession now. Ortiz has an inferior record with only the Jennings win giving much sign that he's any good.

Povetkin isn't truly in the top 5, unless you're only going off length of career

He's past his best but he's still good. I think it's his style that makes him dangerous to AJ. At worst, in his prime he's had the tools to beat AJ.

Outside of AJ, Wilder and possibly Whyte he has the best resume in the division. Technically he's still sound but his explosiveness has diminished somewhat. I'd stick happily pick him to beat Whyte and Parker though. Probably Ortiz but I'm less confident in that.

But as I always say to this question: it depends on who it rating him. Some on here think he is absolute garbage.

Povetkin is a high volume pressure fighter and has not a chin like Takam. The only similiarities they have is
    height.

Joshuas fight with Takam doesn't give any indication about how he will deal with Povetkin.
