The boxing fan base is strange. It's resorted to arguing about PPV numbers and boxing "fans" glad if a PPV performs poorly. More time is spent dismantling legitimate greats resumes than there is admitting how great some fighters were/are. And, now, some people think Canelo can beat GGG. What is the world coming to.

Well, although Canelo is actually a 154lb fighter. The competition that he has faced to date is head and shoulders above what GGG has faced thus far in the pro ranks, so he is more battle tested. GGG does seem to be the total package, and I'd back him to win, but anyone who says Canelo at least has some argument. The strange ones are those calling GGG an ATG, saying he would beat Hagler, Hopkins, Monzon...... WTF, Where is anyones basis for that bull?

Canelo has fought better opposition then GGG, has a better resume and is 9 years younger. Also more skilled

And everyone that Canelo has fought would be utterly demolished by GGG you knob.

Canelo has my respect. He hasn't ducked anyone, and I dig that. I don't see him beating Golovkin though. Canelo is at his best trading punches, and I struggle to see him 1) getting beyond that jab and 2) getting the better of exchanges.

Canelo has faster hands, but his poor footwork buries him in this fight.

EDIT: Don't want to forget GGG's cardio is supreme to Canelo too. Dude throws 80-90 hard punches a round...canelo is lucky to throw 45-50

If Canelo insisted on draining him to 155, it could be interesting because Golovkin's and unknown quality there. I think Canelo will allow him at least a couple more lbs if not the full 160, but I'm not really bothered if Cotto won and dragged him all the way down to 155. At 160 it's a mismatch, but Cotto's killer left hook to the body if GGG is badly drained :think

I can't see a scenario where canelo beats GGG. He's shorter, plodding and has suspect cardio. He would make govlokin work and make it competitive but he loses 10 times out of 10 if they fought.

    Ha-ha-ha. I haven't heard more stupid statement.

... and against better opposition, Canelo was losing -- to Mayweather and arguably Trout and Lara.
