People really think Canelo could beat GGG?

Golovkin sparred with Canelo and reputedly lit him up. Both men have gotten better since then, but imho GGG has improved even more. If you look back at his early fights he looks mortal ... not the steamroller that he looks like today against better opposition.

Can't remember who posted it, but there was a journalist who wrote down what happened for the Canelo-GGG sparring and Canelo got battered around by all accounts.

Abel said the same thing about Kova, so not sure where your info on Kova roughing him up comes from? He'd had less than 10 pro fights anyway so I don't think loads can be read into it

Kova definitely didn't do good when sparring GGG. Kova has a different kind of personality. He needs to get angry in order to try to hurt people. Golovkin and him had friendly relationships, so Sergey didn't want to hurt Gennady. Also, at that time, Kova had an awe towards Golovkin, as Sergey didn't achieve much in amateurs, while Golovkin was an amateur world champ and olympic silver medalist robbed from gold.

GGG loses to Mayweather as well so I don't see the relevance. Golovkin is a good fighter but he ain't this "monstar" he's hyped to be.

He can't. A very easy match up for GGG, he's better at everything maybe except speed. I'd give Cotto a better chance.

If you didnt know PPV is everything for us boxing fans as we get a peice of the pie !!! it makes us enjoy the fight (if the sales are low i dont enjoy the fight and if its high i dont care about the fight) , also if my fighter is the A side i sleep better at night !
tbh both side of the fence are doing the same thing , Floyd/Ward ( american ? fans) bash GGG for figthing bums and the recent PPV numbers while GGG fans bash Ward for being boring and not drawing , in realty its sad , Ward vs GGG would be a DREAM fight for me to watch..... too bad that GGG camp isnt on board (guess the size difference is too big and they dont have the confidence he can overcome it) but the GGG fans not on board and trying to shoot down the fight is whats crazy to me....... i never seen " i wish they can fight cuz GGG gonnna break his face " , its always " doesnt make sense , no money, no draw , he got Cotto lined up" , so the bussiness side has been keeping the fans busy for a while now....

    • Arguing about PPV numbers is strange, so is celebrating a "failed" PPV. I don't get it either, it's like a **** measuring contest, except they're measuring someone else's...
    • Canelo stands 0 chance
