You have got to be crazy. If a guy like barrios can land on you and take you deep like that, taylor would seriously harm you. Taylor is barrios size but 10x more skilled and hits harder. Even crawford wants nothing to do with JT.

Gervonta Davis should not be at 140 at all. If he fights Josh Taylor there he loses by KO.

The size difference alone is wayyy too much.

Josh Taylor is HUGE. He stands between 5" 11 and 6" and has a long reach and long legs. He rehydrates a crazy amount and probably weights in over 160lbs in the ring.

Gervonta Davis is way too small to even be fighting at 140 let alone against the number 1 at 140lbs. Even at 135 he was looking like a fat ass. With some reasonable discipline he should only be fighting at 126 and 130 and maybe going to 135 for his biggest challenges.

Against Barrios, Davis did not ask for a rehydration clause. Against Josh Taylor he could stipulate one to even the playing field but I still don't think it's enough.

Josh Taylor also recently stated he would be willing to go to 135. I'd favor him in a lot of match-ups there, including KO over Va-SILLY Lose-a-chenko. Now if he went to 135 with a rehydration clause against Gervonta Davis only then would I start to see this as a competitive match up. However, I don't think he would do that.

I didn't say that. I said if Josh Taylor goes down to 135 and faces Va-SILLY Lose-a-chenko, he would win by KO.

However, I do favor Gervonta Davis to KO Va-SILLY Lose-a-chenko but that is for another thread.

Josh Taylor in my mind beats him, but tank can crack and his power is top notch. If Taylor gets cracked, id like to see how he reacts. I wouldnt count Tank out if the fight got made tho.

Tank weighed 146.6 against Gamboa and has a 67½'' reach to Taylor's 69½'' reach

Taylor doesn't rehydrate anywhere near 160lbs let alone over it

Here he is weighing 149 against Alfonso Olivera and he weighed in at 142 the day before

That was a few years ago but according to his ex-trainer Shane McGuigan he usually rehydrates to about 153 pounds IIRC

Even Taylor admits he would be a middle sized 147 pounder if he moved up and he said he's making weight easier these days because he's doing things properly now and has hired a nutritionist

'Taylor has stepped things up in terms of his preparation around diet and nutrition. He's often expressed his desire to move up in weight to capture titles at 147lbs, but says he could actually drop down.

"I'm making the weight so much more easily," he says. "I could maybe even go down to 135 and challenge for a title there and then jump up to 147 and be a three-weight world champion. These are all longer-term goals.

"You've got Teofimo Lopez, who's big for 135. You've got Vasyl Lomachenko. It would be hard to make the weight, but I think it is doable. And then jump up to 147 to take on Terence Crawford and Errol Spence, the greats of the sport."

This video is from the day of the weigh in against JCR , later that day but I was surprised to see how good he looked with still a long time to go to the fight what with it being the day before it. In fact, he looks fully rehydrated there and no different to how he looked in the fight so I'm not even sure McGuigan's estimate is correct.

He looks well rehydrated already and full in the face

Crawford was coming in as high as 153 down at 135 and is much heavier than that now

Here he is weighing in the ''160s-170s'' so at the very least the late 160s and look at how lean he looks. He looks in tip top fighting shape there

hmm, i dont think so. barrios is faster, more athletic, and most importantly, he has better reaction times than ramirez. he is also in the development stage, so he will get better. so when and if they meet, i expect him to have more success than ramirez did. i didnt really realize how much there was to work with in him till this fight. hes got some goods, just not yet using them to their full potential. he should seek out reynoso. i think eddy would take him on. getting him back to a title would be a huge feather in his cap. and im sure he can see the potential in the kid, if he saw the fight. most of the stuff he did wrong was technical stuff, things a good coach can correct. but the speed, legs and reaction time are there to make him better. hes got decent pop, and his chin has been solid up to this point. he just got caught by a more experienced and much harder hitting guy.

They only say that because they are racists and they think Taylor can’t fight because he lacks melanin.
