People say Canelo ducks Benavidez, yet ignore Benavidez ducking Morrell

    Why not just fight him in 2026, then? What makes 2025 so different than the year we are currently in? The fight was right there to make THIS year, 2024, but we get both Charlo Bros, a welterweight, and now maybe Berlanga... with no actual guarantee for Benavidez?

    This fight not happening in 2024 is a blatant duck. He may well fight DB when he has exhausted every possible alternative and has no other choice, but he refused to fight the guy when he actually did have the choice to do so.

    Canelo gets no credit for being forced to fight his top contender.

    Can we really say that most people would sit on an undisputed title and refuse to fight his top contender for years, while fighting multiple undeserving fighters below the division?

    This might be unprecedented.

    If he didn't want to fight Benavidez, Canelo should've vacated the WBC and stopped trying to stifle DB's career.

    What?

    While Canelo was busy being the first man ever to unify SMW, Benavidez was busy being unprofessional and missing weight.

    Benavidez didnt become the WBC SMW mandatory until just last March when he edged out a decision against Plant who Canelo KTFO.

    It hasn't even been a full year yet that he is mandatory.

    How is it undeservingly? You’re acting as if Canelo just picked people for no reason other than to avoid Benavidez. The GGG and Charlo fights were ones that were long asked for, both by the fans and boxers themselves, and Canelo finally took them.

    Did you know at one point Canelo was also considered a duck for refusing to grant GGG the trilogy or fighting either of the Charlo bros? Now that he finally does the new accusation is he’s doing it to duck Benavidez lol.

    The Charlo one is a technicality since it was supposed to be the older Charlo to fight, but due to inactivity the younger one stepped in his place. There was nothing random or ducking about either one.

    As far as the vacated stuff, how? I think your confusing fan wants with mandatory rules. Benavidez didn’t become his mandatory until recently so there is a good amount of time left for him to still take the match. Now once the period is up if he still hasn’t fought Benavidez then yeah he should be forced to vacate the belt, but not before. That would set a horrible precedent of letting the fans control matches.

    Benavidez is thinking that he can bully the smaller Canelo. If he is really that good, he should fight Morrell, not Canelo.

    Timing is everything. No one was asking for the Charlo fights when they were signed and you pretending that these were good fights to make in the year 2024 makes me think that I can't have a serious discussion with you.

    You don't just fight someone's twin brother because the other one is inactive. LOL. That's not how boxing works. He pulled Jermell up two divisions because he looks like Jermall?

    ... And THEN the inactiveJermall still gets the fight? So why bother with his doppleganger in the first place? Can't answer? Let me help you out:

    To buy time because he wants nothing to do with Benavidez. It's a duck, and you are probably on drugs based upon your reasoning here.
