and he proved that he is still the man at 140 after losing to floyd. beating lazcano to wide decision and beating and the first to stop paulie who was on a streak of impressive wins. hatton probed he is still effective at 140.

meanwhile was hatton effective at 147 prior to fighting floyd? why did he went down to 140 immediately after the collazo fight?

 

LOL the same guys who are saying Pac picks his opponent...Are the ones whom said his fight against DLH, Hatton, and Cotto were SUICIDE! DLH would decapitate him with a left hook, then Hatton would put to much size/ pressure on little Pac, and Cotto....That freakin dude is going to knock him out to the body again!
Then, the **** didn't happen, and people actually started to beleive in Pac except for the haters who just changed there tune to "Yeah, Pac just takes the easy fights." The irony is killing me. Even though soembody like Margarito is limited admittedingly, the dude outweighed Pac by 17 pounds! Try getting punched by somebody that weighs 17 pounds more than you, and there whole fighting style is to try to smother you, and throw a lot of punches. Of course he didn't succeed much, but if Pac wasn't man enough to keep him off then Margarito would have eaten him.

 

roach has the opinion that hatton was not that good. but his accomplishments speak for themselves and had accomplished him more than what is expected of him.

malignaggi, after the cotto fight, has been on a set of impressive victories against cherry, ngoudjo and ndou (2x). he was beating ndou decisively if not for that stupid braid he had. he took control once again after it was cut. malignaggi was the #2 LWW ata the time while bradley was at #3.

hatton and his camp knew that at 140, he was using the weight to train much better. they felt that making 147 was making hatton sluggish while making 140 has benefitted hatton with his speed and condition. thus hatton was more effective at 140 and it shows in his accomplishment. collazo and malignaggi was not far off as skills level is concern. malignaggi might be the better boxer. the difference was he dominated maliganggi at 140 while he struggled with collazo at 147, his only fight at 147 prior to floyd and he moved down immediately after.

there's also a reason why hatton weighed only 145 in his fight with floyd against floyd's 147. hatton needed the speed he has at 140 to have a chance to cut off floyd. he is trying to bring his pysical condition at 140 which he could not bring if he weighs the full welter limit.

Really, I think you have it mixed up..

if you look at the records of Floyds last three apponents, in their last two fights, all three guys floyd has faced has a combined record of 6-0 with 5 KOs

Mannys last three against their last two opponents you have a record of
2-3-1 with No KOs

So you tell me who is scouting lossing opponents....

 

Well...for the sake of argument, Manny has been consistent in "just being a fighter" and letting his promoter pick his opponents. No matter how lackluster of a matchup it is. And that's because people don't really care who he fights anymore because he's active. Course, you have to draw on something like his rivalry with JMM after that goddamn stinkfest against Mosley.
