Nope, Clottey best rounds were all arguably the first 3. And at this point Pac was not doing any baiting he was in full patience mode to go after Clottey. Later on that may be the case with a few shots, but let's not exaggerate here.
It's my fault. I make like 70 of them and then I can't decide which one I want to look at. I'll try and settle. Watch this space.
Exactly! Now you guys know me as not being a Pac fan, but Pac showed me some great dimensions. He set up shots and got out of there. He had a great work rate. Almost an amazing work rate for a fighter with only a few more fights left before retirement. (Testing?) There is more than enough stuff to commend Pac on, why do the *******s feel the need to embellish? :huh
Pac was baiting for clottey to open up for him to counter with his right hook ala hatton (1st rd). The problem was that clottey was just too fast to return to his defense. Some of joshua's punches went through though, and those punches were crisp that made pac's face all ****ed up. And that's the power behind clottey's 160-lb punches. The problem with clottey was that he was way too cautious to trade punches with pac, coz he felt pac's power (those body punches he received made him realize hes going to be KTFOed if he take risks-not good for a challenger) By the way, I don't believe in clottey's statement after the fight that he never felt pac's power punches. although he rarely got hit in the face, his body got hammered all night long. any elite boxer receiving those nasty punches made them **** diarhhea for days :good
I 100% agree....at some point back was trying everything to get Josh to open up on him to allow himself a chance to couter a Josh who was throwing....unfortunately Josh didn't do it for too long before he went back into a shell.....BUT...I could see Manny allowing Josh to throw his offense to bring him out of his shell.
not easy to counter clottey because his shots are too few and far between. besides 90% of the time was on his shell defense. i watched some of his fights before and he was never this shelled defensively before. he just refused to take the chance of a lifetime by imposing his size and power over little pacman.
Seriously wtf? The same uppercuts that Cotto were landing, and the same right hands from Marquez. Cotto, Clottey, and even Hatton managed to snap his head back. I know he's great at hiding his pain and does pain conditioning, but if someone can consistently make his head snap back enough with those same punches he'll be visibly hurt which can mean for a potential KO.
Just hear it from the man himself... ... "He wouldnt throw punches so I let him hit me so hed open up, Pacquiao said. http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=558456&publicationSubCategoryId=63
one dimensional easy to hit no defence yet atleast p4p # 2 with 7 championships in 7 diffrnt wt classes
Yep. Not a strategy I'd recommend. "Taking some to give some" is a bad, lazy strategy, and one which wouldn't bode well against a world class counterpuncher.
