Joshua v Ngannou is not an easy fight for either man. Ngannou more than capable of ending Joshua's career.
I thought it would be in 2024 but not early 2024. This is apparently the 4th Fury opponent Joshua has signed to fight in 6 months (Whyte, Wallin, Wilder, Ngannou). I suspect Hearn/Joshua will fight Ngannou 9-12 months from now 1. Big money fight + "low risk" (Hearn/Joshua have no other “superfights” on the horizon in light of Wilder’s loss to Parker) 2. Try to pressure Fury to fight Joshua if Joshua beats Ngannou in style and winning well would make Joshua look better than Fury, as well as boost Joshua’s confidence and motivation (Joshua signing to fight Whyte, Wallin and Wilder in 2023 was part of this) 3. "Steal" the Ngannou fight from Fury, with the demand for Fury-Ngannou 2 diminishing massively if Joshua KO's Ngannou
Nice try. AJ vs Parker was not close fight at all. 118-110, 118-110 and 119-109 on the scorecards. I personally had it 9-3 for AJ. While compubox is crap: AJ outlanded Parker in 10 rounds, 1 was even, and the only round Parker outlanded AJ was by 1 punch. Still a win is a win. Also prime is a very subjective thing, as well as a top 10 fighter. As the moment AJ beats someone, he suddenly become no good. Wallin was top 10 in every single organisation, and hell he was in his prime. But he is not a top 10 fighter, cause AJ just smashed him, right? Funny that you forget Ruiz 2, but that wasn't prime Ruiz right ? And AJ in the first fight was perfectly fine and the best AJ that has ever step in the ring, right? Typical AJ hater post. Whyte also wasn't in his prime, having more matches than AJ, never lost, never been KOed, and actually at that time still have chin and his durability. This was the best Whyte. Povetkin while past his best for sure, was still in very decent shape, and AJ took this fight straight away. And Povetkin was on great 8 winning streak, just 1 loss to Klitschko. Never been stopped as well. Once hurt once by Klitschko. AJ KO him brutally. I can nitpick on every single past great resume and make it like not worth it.
And when AJ fight Hrgovic in the summer, will you hide and after AJ destroys him, claim that Hrgovic was never a top guy, h ? That fight is going to happen after the Ngannou most probably, so start thinking about your excuses.
When Fury signed to fight Ngannou people on here not only stated it was a cash grab and ducking but also wanted him stripping of his WBC title, now Joshua is fighting Ngannou it’s a great fight from both a business and financial point ! The hypocrisy and double standards on here is unbelievable sometimes. Think I need to quote a few members on this once I have time .
Come on man what has Hrgovich done? He is just the latest over hyped flavour of the month. You can try and make Joshua’s resume look rubbish, but at least he has one, not some joker who’s last fight was against the fearsome number 350 heavyweight in the world.
5, with Wallin. With a resume with: Klitschko Usyk Povetkin Pulev Parker Ruiz Whyte Wallin You can't say anything other than that he fights anyone and he has to best hw resume. Who's Hrgovic got?
Remove the 40 year olds and the people he lost to. You're left with Parker, Whyte (green), Wallin (top 10 is generous).
Excuses and explainations, that's what's losers got. AJ, like it or not, has the best resume at he. If Hrgovic is the real deal he better start showing it in the ring.
The difference is no one gave Ngannou a chance he shocked the world by dropping and arguably beating Fury.
I'm not a big fan of the AJ/Ngannou fight but AJ/Hrgovic was even less interesting. Hrgovic like most HW boxers and boxers in general is 90% smoke and mirrors. 17 fights in, fought virtually nobody, his only really notable win is a contentious decision over a 39 year old. I honestly dont know if he should even be considered a bigger threat to Joshua than Ngannou is, Ngannou has a better chance of straight up putting AJ to sleep anyway.
