Ive seen Prescott fight 4 fights and a total of around 30-35 rounds

Up to these fights Prescotts been knocking out dustbin men, but never the less you need some raw power to knock a fully grown man out with boxing gloves so quickly, so credit marginally here.

But against Abril, Khan, Tolledo and Vazquez Prescott seems VERY 1 dimensional, his boxing skills are pretty poor for his ranking (infact i think hes been lucky with biased scoring and even then he lost), he struggles on the inside/holding, his defence is leaky (holds the left down low, there something else as well-see tolledo fight) and apart from the first 4 rounds (khan K.O, vazquez KD by jab, tolledo shaken) his power is OVER RATED. He couldnt even knock out tolledo who has been knocked out by average punchers in the past, and abril looked sound as well.

So basically if Mitchell fights boring and patient for the first 4 rounds or so and steals rounds, Prescott will get frustrated and start landing slow 'can see a mile away' bombs as usual and then its just a case of picking punches and going for the UD.

Mitchell can outbox him, I don't think Mitchell should get into a war he needs to use the jab and start his proper work after he gets Prescott into 3rd round. If you watch the last fight with Vasquez Prescott tries the same power shots over and over and he stopped using his jab.

Going on both your avatar and your statement, you're a bit of an Amir fan, aren't you?

That's ok, he's a decent fighter, but let's face facts: Prescott looked incredible knocking him out. That one dimension served him pretty ****ing well.

Prescott is big, strong, rangy, and can definitely bang, whilst Mitchell fights with his chin hanging out and is easy to hit.

I'm not underestimating Mitchell, but he can be drawn into a tear up which could be disastrous against Prescott.

Khan ran in guns blazing and got countered, then all prescott did was punch khan while he was chicken dancing, i take it thats the only fight you saw? I also forgot to mention prescott DOES have a very strong jab (khan/vasquez)

This. It's not underestimating, its simple and logical analysis. Kevin Mitchell really needs to do something he's never done in the past, thats hit and not get hit. Against Carl Johannesson and Walter Estrada he was way too easily hit and buzzed, combined with Prescott's long arms and power its a dodgy fight.

I'm not underestimating his overall chances, he has a good chance.

Against Estrada it looked like Mitchell was letting him have free shots on his chin, he was that easy to hit.

His defence doesn't seem to have got better over time, which makes this fight all the more interesting. Certainly better than the main event in my opinion.

I dont rate Prescot to be honest, and i think Mitchell will be too busy for him. What i will say is that Mitchell does get involved a little too much for my liking and drops his gloves when he does so.If Mitchell does what he's good at and doesn't try to macho it out with Prescott i think he'll win a clear UD.

Prescott was one dimensional in that his stunning KO win over Khan was almost punch perfect.

A loss is a loss Khan took it like a Man these boys need to get over it. It was a punch perfect display, as soon as he saw Khan load up with an uppercut he took a slight step back and gave it a left hook and followed through. Sir Prescott might not be the best boxer but he did look punch perfect.

Take out the Khan fight from your argument. You can't comment on Prescott's counter punching ability from a minute of boxing. 'All Prescott did'? he couldn't have done much else.. that was the easiest fight of his career and the one he made the most money for. Just seems your trying to take the performance away from him because you obviously love Khan.

But on your initial point, i think a few people are underestimating Mitchell too. I have Prescott to win, but i think if Mitchell avoids trading too much and works in and out he can beat him.
