Gander Tasco is right for once. I don't think the fight will be as one sided as many people believe. Yes, I'm a "Floydette".

You did say he was untested. You said he's only been tested if you're a Mayweather fan. This **** is ridiculous. This guy is taking on and beating guys that people want to see him fight, and then saying afterwards that he's cherry picking bums. It makes no sense. Mosley, Hoya, Judah, Hatton; these are all really good fighters. Even Baldo, Gatti and JMM are legit opponents. If none of these guys are considered legit fights for Floyd, that only speaks to how much better he is than everyone else. You can't stay atop people's p4p lists for over 10 years if you're not fighting anyone. That just doesn't make sense.

The thing is, how did a fight against Cotto who was at his peak hurt Shane... Cotto was on a streak and at his absolute peak, most expected a fairly easy UD for Cotto. Surprisingly Mosley fought a very close fight in which he changed his game plan a little late in the fight.

The losses don't mean as much against A-level fighters in their prime like Wink and Forrest, their stylistic nightmare matchups when you set out to face the best. Even if they were stupid business moves, he recovered and fought pretty even in both rematches.

You're right though, you do lose your draw and appeal to the guy who only tunes into the big fights though. And in the end that's where the money comes from, big fights. And thats why some choose to preserve their record and others go for broke. Theirs not enough interests these days to just be an elite fighter these guys need gimmicks..

You're responding to a post that a directed at another poster.

Everyone has something to prove. However, he has to have proved himself against legit opposition for you to pick him against a guy you describe as a great fighter. How you could pick Mayweather by UD against a guy like Mosley if you're also going to say his heart and chin are untested and that he hasn't fought anyone? This is exactly why Shane is being "underestimated" in your opinion. Everyone is saying how great he is, but they don't have it in them to pick him to win. There is a reason for this. Mayweather had all the skill in the world, but was a decided underdog against Genaro Hernandez. The reason for this was because he really was untested back then. Mayweather is such a big favorite because he's proven himself to be such a great talent over numerous years against good fighters.

for one.. he hasn't fought Mosley yet.

Two, I'll give him credit for the Hatton, Judah and Oscar victories. The Baldo, Gatti and JMM fights proved nothing.

That's really all he's done since a couple of good wins down at lightweight. Yet people are giving Mosley like zero chance against this guy. The only word that comes to my mind is 'overrated.'

I couldn't agree more. These guys are irrational haters and will never give PBF credit no matter who he beats. Before the fight was signed PBF will never fight Shane because he's a legit threat and is scared of him. After the fight is signed Shane is shot and a prime Mosley would knock him out. Funny how that works.

I pick him to win for stylistic reasons; the same reason most people pick him to win. If he were fighting a prime Oscar, or a prime Shane, it would be a different story.

Right now I give Shane a 40% shot to win. But I could be totally wrong either way.

    First real Welterweight fight?

Zab Judah was a fake champ at welter, as was Baldo.....and Oscar was BEYOND a welterweight fight (which is more than we can say for pac):deal

Let me ask you this? Would a Pac/JMM fight at 147 mean anything?

Your coming around to this conclusion is more proof that the people taking Floyd at four to one are on the right track.
