Exactly. This would be a fight that a lot of people would want to see, and would be a good matchup. Unfortunately, it won't happen. Floyd seems intent on retiring in September. Even if he doesn't retire, I don't think he has any interest in moving up in weight. So with that being said, Golovkin should get in there with someone that would stand a chance against him, without any weight restrictions. Let's see him go up to 168 and fight Ward.

So then if Floyd were to win, then Golovkin killed himself to make weight?

I never want anyone to be hurt.

By "make the weight class" you automatically assume a fighter needs to put on weight to make the next weight class. They dont have to at all. They can come in comfortable and negotiate how much a guy can rehydrate.

If floyd allows golovkin to rehydrate to 160 at 5pm Vegas time the day of the fight, I think it's a respectable enough of a fight. Just my opinion.

I think Floyd is great enough to pick shots on GGG and win a decision. That's not my official prediction but it's not out of the question at all.

    Yeah pretty much.

Noone is saying Floyd isn't good. I think a non-drained Canelo with more exp now has a chance, and I think obviously GGG wins if he can make weight. I also think Lara is interesting at 154, if really honest judges were ringside.

But I don't think anyone at 147 beats him :conf

He matched Sugar Ray Leonard, a guy he's consistently compared to, by winning major titles in 5 weight classes.

    Depends on how he looks.

Despite all the idiocy perpetrated by certain denizens of this forum, its actually usually pretty obvious who is healthy and who is sick from cutting weight. Its really not that hard to tell.

Floyd rematches Manny in the new MGM facility..... too much easy money.

I bet he retires after that though.

No way Floyd fights GGG or even Canelo again really.. its just random musings of bored people posting BS on forums...
