Timothy Bradley: Too green, too small and can't box from distance. Of course Pac was gonna beat him. The midget was tailor-made for him!

Andre Berto: Seriously, just who has this guy beaten for him to have been a legit opponent for Pac?

JMM: No longer fighting in his optimum weight and had let age catch up with him. Pac beating him don't mean ****.

Paul Williams: Dude was exposed by Martinez has a hopeless, one-dimensional, face-forward goon. Roach knew what he was doing when he picked him.

I consider Hatton to be a great win when you consider how he did the deed with such ferocity, taking him to within an inch of life with one single shot. If it was a close, competitive fight, nobody would rate it as highly.

Cotto is a very good win, he came to the fight in good shape and got battered then stopped. I have a feeling if this fight was competitive, people would rate it as a better win.

Clottey is just a timid guy, he fights well when he feels he has all the cards (the cut against Cotto, Zab being a mental midget and much smaller than him). I rate it as a good win, but when Clottey fired back he was kinda ****ing Manny up. Part of this was Manny laxing on his defense to lure Clottey into giving up openings, but eh, who cares? Good win, but just resume garnish.

Margarito is slow footed, slow fisted and just a general slowpoke, but he has tons of will, chin, heart and stamina. It was a good test to see how Manny can handle a bigger opponent, but keep in mind that Marg's firepower isn't incredible and he breaks people down after finding them consistently throughout a fight. Good win, though.

Out of these four, the best is probably Cotto. None of them are bad, or even average. I'd say they're all firmly way above average and the performances were all great on Pacman's side.

The only legit person that was available and was willing is shane for cotto.

...but people need to remember the rumor that Cotto's contract with TR expired after the Margo fight and one of the pre-condition of Miguel re-signing with Arum is that he would get to fight Pacquiao. Mosley-Pac never had a chance of happening back then.

I believe he was banned right before the Hatton fight took place. He already predicted Pac's success at 135, his destruction of De La Hoya, and Pac's demolition of Hatton. He owned many here if you read the threads including some mods. He was ESB's Nostradamus in regards to Manny Pacquiao. His posts do live on though, enjoyed my many, shamed by some. :yep He was a ******* with crazy ideas that no other *******s on ESB dared to back up. Amazing character indeed.

Pacquiao has been matched with a certain style a fighter that makes it more comfortable to fight against.
.......fighters that will be right there in front of him......

......however, the thread starters list is still an impressive list imo, though Pacquiao has been matched well, most fighters in his high stature position are.

Mayweather has been matched well also, he's avoided fighters like Paul Williams and Margarito that potentially could have troubled his low workrate/defensive style of boxing.

We're in an age of boxing with so many title belts to go around that the champion need not fight a top contender that stylistically he may not match up well against.
When one of these contenders is being forced upon you, the champion can drop his belt, semi-retire, or go seek a different belt in the same or another division.
If another belt is'nt available, one can be invented for you to fight for.

    ......so is boxing.:nut

How about avenging his losses to Marquez? Nah, too risky. Insert clumsy, skill-devoid bum who leads with his chin. Oh, and he has to be coming off a brutal knockout loss.

    Counterpunch? X
    High output? X
Coming off a strong performance? X
    Drug testing? X
    Movement? X

you shut teh **** up. Admittetly i think Cotto and Clottey were good wins and both fighters deserved a pacquiao fight

And still, "green fighters" so to speak are better then Margarito and especially Hatton. Berto and Alexander would be good for pacquiao still

So who do you is the fighter who fought better competition than that in the past 4 years?

Mayweather - Ricky Hatton, Oscar Dela Hoya, JMM, Mosley in the past 4 years

Martinez - Jordan, Torivio, Termeleksetian, Bunema, Cintron, Williams, Pavlik, then again Williams

JMM - Barrera, Juarez, Casamayor, Pac, Diaz, Floyd, then Diaz again.

It is easy to criticize and you miss out the part of enjoying a fighter.

If Gayweather would have fought those that Manny fought and won in such dominating fashion, I might enjoy him again.
