Just because they are of the same height that they are the same. Otherwise all 5'4 people would be 110 pounds.

Cotto is strucutrally bigger because cotto's physique is trunk heavy, which is more than 50 per cent of the person's weight. While it seems that they are of the same size because Pac is bigger in his extremity, meaning bigger calves, legs, wrist, fist.

Regardless, Cotto had almost 4 months to prepare and acclimatize to this weight, considering that he fought Clottey at 146. Not a far reach weight to attain. Plus, Cotto himself stated that the weight was never an issue, pre and post-fight.

Prior to the Cotto fight, Pac never even reached 145. The closest he was to that weight was 142 against Oscar. SO technically, pre-fight, he was the smaller man asking the bigger man.

They've done that for Maywether fights as well as DLH's. So because YOU DON'T KNOW, you assume that must mean there was a rehydration clause? :huh

Why exactly do you think you need to explain this? :patsch

I dont disagree with you.. What we dont know is if MAnny really LET him hit him... What we do know is that it APPEARED that he let clottey hit him, and what we also know is that clottey did hit him.....

OAN: **** what a writer says...they are just another critic in my eyes.

END of the day, Good job for MAnny, Joke of a performance by CLottey, Great strategic matchmaking by BOOB ARUM
BS for the fans, glad i watched it for free

Twice. Just like Pac! Leonard-Hearns II for the WBC & WBO Supermiddleweight titles where the division limit is 168 pounds, but contracted at a catchweight of 163 pounds. Yet, I've never heard cries about SRL inclusion in the Top 10 ATG because he was some catchweight king. :think

All great wins. Let's see who the next top fighters are to cherry pick Cotto, Clottey and Margarito.

No matter who he had fought, the responses would be like this.

I think if you added Cotto Clottey and Marg to Mayweathers resume people would have him a lock for top 10

I want to see you make excuses for Berto and Alexander when Pac beats the living **** out of them.

Cotto and Hatton were legit. Very, very good wins.

Not a fan of his recent work though. Clottey fight was made way too soon in the first Mayweather negotiations that it seemed as if it was made purely to not have to fight Mayweather (or not to take the tests, or whatever the reasons). And Margo was coming off an 18 month layoff after taking the worst beating of his career. After 3 years and 5 fights, the whole "weight" and "small" thing has now worn off for Pac. It's about quality of opponents now, not names. Shane's a similar boat to Margo, unfortunately.

With that said, we have to take into account that we're talking about the best fighter in the world pound for pound. He's held to a higher standard then others. And for me, his last 18 months and 3 fights (including Shane, when they fight in May) isn't cutting it.

Hatton wasn't really a cherry pick. He was the man at 140. He wasn't the same after Floyd but he was still relevant. Cotto is sort of one. Pac watched Cotto fight Clottey and after the fight said he would beat him. When Mosley came to Freddie Roach's gym he didn't want to give Mosley the fight. He said Mosley would have to weight in at 142. That is bull**** right there. Also he had Cotto come in at 145. He fought De La Hoya at 147 so he shouldn't have had Cotto come in at 145. Instead of Clottey he should have fought Berto imo. Instead of Marg he should have fought Marquez at a catch weight. It would finally shut up everyone who said Pac didn't beat Marquez. I can't believe people would actually say Marg was a great win. He got suspended and looked like **** against a journeyman but he gets a title shot with the best fighter on the planet. Get the **** outta hear.

Obvious pattern? Mayweather hides when pacs looking for an opponent and starts to make noise again once Pac locked in to a match.

all those are solid wins against much biigger guys.

hatton was the man @140 and was unbeaten at that weight before fighting pac. clottey, margo and cotto are 3 of the top 5 welters during these last 5 years.

also, hatton and cotto were top 10 p4p fighters when pac beat them.

Pac is a great fighter but after the JMM fight at 130 he has become a super star. The thing is his resume is a whole lot better from JMM back than after it. DLH, Cotto, Hatton, Margarito, were all name boxers. Not one of those fighters were at their best and didnt represent must danger.
