How the hell do you figure that he won a round by running around and flicking a few half-hearted counters out?
By making Mosley's head bounce around like a rag doll. When its Whitaker or Mayweather doing it, its beautiful. But when a known slugger does it, hes wasnt doing it right. **** outta here. Cotto won. :happy
I hope this isnt the start of a Jermain Taylor "run" for Miguel Cotto of wrong decisions. Mosely won that. By at least 2 rounds. Horribly biased commentators dint help.
Hey, don't get me wrong -- I'm not a hater, and I actually like Cotto's style most of the time, especially in the Judah fight. However, I honestly didn't see him do a damn thing in the last round, and I don't recall Mosley getting his head 'bounced around' in that round either. When Whitaker and Mayweather Jr fight going backwards, they actually throw snappy (and normally highly accurate) punches and sharp jabs, especially in Whitaker's case. Cotto looked like he was pawing around or just utterly half-hearted with a few counters, like he just wanted to coast and take it easy because he was sure the judges had given him the fight already.
Honestly, some guys are on threads saying that Cotto clearly won the 12th. You've gotta be kidding me. He didn't do **** and just ran away from Shane. I'm not crying a river over the decision, but seriously to give him the 12th is just nutsucking.
I agree, and i hope we get to see the judges scorecards too. If both the judges who scored the fight 115-113 gave that last round to Cotto, we are going to be hearing the word rematch alot from Moselys camp.
12 round was a tossup....Cotto looked like he was practicallly giving the round away to Mosley, but Mosley REFUSED to let a powershot go in that 12th round. To me, Mosley appeared to have been protecting a hurt right hand there..... HBO commentators dropped the ball by not asking Mosley about this after the fight.
I thought the 12th round was definately Shane's. He pressed the action and chased him all over the ring. Cotto threw a handful of punches in which a few landed but really weren't significant.
I gave the 12th round to Cotto, but I've only seen it once. I was thinking during the entire round that if Mosley were to just throw something resembling a punch I would give him the round...then I waited...and waited some more. When Cotto threw that round he was effective, even when going backwards. I gave Cotto the fight 115-113 so it was obviously an important round on my card. I have no fanboy status towards either fighter, so it wasn't an out for me to give Cotto the fight in my fantasy world. I will have to look at it again tomorrow and will man up if I thought I was wrong.
