I love the argument that Hopkins is a better fighter now at 43 then he was in his prime. He's adapted this style because he has no choice. Otherwise he would revert back to his more active prime fighting style since it's more effective. If wisdom and experience were such great substitutes for physical decline then we would have 60 year old trainers with 50 + years of boxing experience whooping up on 20 year olds. Age is THE determining factor for performance decline.

Joe couldn't hit a 43 year old Hopkins to save his life so let's not pretend he would have better sucess against a Hopkins of 10 years ago.
