Do you know the difference between boxing and running? You cannot win a fight by running. I have seen some people make the same claim about Rigo against Donaire. News flash, if your favorite fighter can't seem to unload or looks horrible against a Mayweather, Whitaker, Ward, or Rigo it is because they are getting a boxing lesson. It seems like a lot of fans can't seem to comprehend that their favorite fighter is getting beat to the punch by a superior boxer, and just result to calling it running.

If you want to see examples of "running" watch Cotto in the later rounds of the Pacquiao fight, Khan whenever he gets tagged, or ODH at some points in the Tito fight.

I've only seen a few fighters genuinely running in a fight, people who call Mayweather a runner either have an agenda or are watching the wrong sport.

Khan is the one that springs to mind when I think of running.

Good post. To me running is when a fighter stops trying to win and just tries to survive. What floyd and rigo do is not running at all. Ive even heard some people say jmm ran on the 3rd fight with pac... smh

Pacquiao vs Mosley is another good example of running for survival

I think some people get critical when they think Floyd should be going for the knockout, but he damn sure doesn't run. At one point in the Pac/Cotto fight, the fans were booing like hell and Pac shrugged his shoulders because Cotto was doing nothing but running away. I guess some people hate seeing a brawler get outboxed and just assume they lost cause the other fighter was running. Ignore that the boxer was beating the brawler to the punch and taking his gameplan away.

He doesn't always stand toe to toe, but he makes "warriors" very reluctant to come after him. And it's not because he is running away. It's because he slips, blocks, and avoids punches while countering.

Mayweather doesn't even use much movement. Everyone was saying his legs were gone since the Marquez fight.

Still believe he had chosen to run a little to compensate for any losses in reflexes and footspeed. That's fine, Rigo does that much more. With this method, Mayweather can dominate well into his 40's.

Boxing is boxing, running is Floyd:lol:. When you tell the whole world that come that date you're coming to knock your opponent out but all you do is run = running:lol::patsch. Now it'll be a different story if Floyd was to say that he's not coming to knock his opponent out but to box and run, I would understand:lol:.

A master defensive ffighter like Whitaker made u miss by bobbing and weaving all the while standing right in front of you. Floyd on the other hand resorts to evading once he feels danger. Wouldn't call it "running" but it sure as hell isn't as entertaining as what sweet pea use to do.
