I work with a guy that swears up and down you HAVE to give DLH 8-9 rounds of the fight.....at which point I told him never, ever, ever to bother trying to talk about boxing with me.

He has also been quoted saying he had Hatton by a round until the knock out.

So sad, so depressing

I do believe Window thought Oscar won that fight (surprise surprise) so yeah Stevie Wonder is appropriate. Clear win for Mayweather, just as the rematch would be. He's the better fighter, simple as that.

 

I had it either 9-3 or 8-4 Mayweather. I forget. Either way, that was a clear Mayweather win, although De La Hoya did have his moments and performed better than I expected.

 

I remember making the trip to Flagstaff, winding through the mountain passages, and hoping for DLH to win. I was a little disappointed by the outcome but shrugged my shoulders and drove home.
Then a year later, Floyd becomes immortal in my eyes, by handing Hatton and his mob a thorough ass-whipping.

 

oscar lost that fight by 2 points , but a case can be made that it was a draw.
