People who think Haye will knock out Valuev are out of their damn minds

about 12-14.

 

Especially the Chagaev that fought Valuev. He looked really good that night.

 

Yep agree somewhat, but Holyfield, Chagaev and to some great extent Ruiz had pretty solid beards and very decent stamina to say the least.

1. Haye doesn't have great stamina that's not good for a long fight.
2. Haye is in danger of being dropped by a big right or strong jab from Valuev. Haye should be out jabbed, if he rushes inside Valuev will unload big shoots anywhere and hold, lean on Haye. This will sap the stamina further.

For Valuev the keys to win are a strong jab, use the height and reach to keep Haye off balance and away from him. When Haye moves in, which he will have to, throw big counters then push and lean on Haye. It would help if Valuev moves forward and is more agressive towards Haye.

Valuev has a few chances. Catching Haye with something big, Haye falling apart if and when his stamina fails him. Keep the fight at long distance and jab.

 

Haye fans are delusional.

 

I'd say he's is p4p puncher at cruiser weight, i wouldn't draw too much into his fights with the 2 chumps bonin and barret at heavyweight. The bigger more solid heavyweights are in a entirely different league, to the calibre of fighter's he's fought....

 

Although I think the fight has a good chance to go either way, I give Haye a shot to force Valuev to retire on his stool or something like that from accumulation. I don't see Haye knocking him down but he may not have to. I even favor Haye to win by a bit. Valuev hasn't honestly knocked someone out since 2006. In 2007 McCline had that leg injury and it was called a knockout but, you know. Plus I say Haye's legs, stamina, chin will all seem better now that he's not draining himself. And on top of that, Valuev might really be in serious decline. 36 years for a man of that size AND a fighter. That's not young. I also think Valuev isn't as good weighing in under 220 like he is.

 

...Under 320 that is. If he were under 220...yeah.

That red font really changed my mind! Just kidding. All of Valuev's fights have been at heavyweight. Haye has only fought once at heavyweight (even though he did fight a previous heavyweight at cruiserweight). Valuev is 7ft and 23 stone and has never been wobbled in his career. Yes, Valuev has a loss on his record, but so does Haye. The difference is, Valuev lost to a legitimate heavyweight in Chagaev (who has a good chin as seen against W. Klitschko) where as Haye lost to Thompson at cruiserweight (Haye's bread and butter). Valuev has a freakishly long reach, height and weight and he will use it against Haye tonight, be sure of that (Haye's suspect chin won't help). Valuev just has it all and if Haye does some how pull of the upset, (especially a KO) my eyes will certainly be wide open at the heavyweight division (especially at Haye).

 

I read an interesting comment about Haye's punching power by Doug Fischer who is one of my favourite boxing writer's and who's opinion i deeply respect. He accurately pointed out that Haye needed several knockdown's to stop Barrett and still didn't score a clean ko, with Barrett on his back and the ref counting to 10, while freakin' Cliff Couser ko'd him in 2 rounds a few fights earlier. Also, Odlanier Solis basically destroyed Barrett with 1 left hook. Off of this evidence, one might say that Haye's ko-power at hw is not as special as some people think it is.

 

Yep, to many just looks at the guys KO ratio and thinks this guy must have awsome power (no doubt he have power) but its still far from Tyson and Tua level! Hayes most dangerous weapon at HW is his speed

 

I can respect virtually everything everyone is saying here. I also am torn as to which way this fight will go but...........

One thing that I feel is just downright foolish to question is that Haye bangs.

Take my word for it Haye bangs. He has snap and great timing in his punches. Mark my words if he catches Big Valuev flush he will knock him down.

This is not to say that this is gonna happen (though I do think Haye will win) but Haye Bangs!!!!!!

 

again haye gassed in this fight....also haye was a millimetre from stopping solis.

 

think of 2 fights....hide v bowe and haye v thompson.

haye comes out looking a superstar in the first 2 rounds...hits valuev will all kinds of shots that bounce of the big fella, maybe even make him stumble a bit....in the third haye takes a breather, valuev keeps clubbing with big cumbersome punches...haye darts in, but when inside valuev grabs him, holds, mauls, hugs and puts his huge weight on top of the already tiring haye....by the 5th haye is absolutely exhausted, valuev hits him with punches that look more like pushes to knock haye over for a tko victory.

or i could be totally wrong.

 

This is a big worry Doug.
Is going to be interesting to see what the plan is.
