People who think Haye will knock out Valuev are out of their damn minds

Also, see: Mike Tyson. In terms of pure power people I suspect there have been plenty of fighters with heavier hands. However, when you put power with incredible speed you're knocking people for six because they can't brace themselves for them.

its not abnormal to think a fast, young, strong explosive athlete such as haye is able to knock out a big, clumsy predictable oaf such as valuev. well, unless your farmboxer

He probably thinks Haye will avoid them.

 

It is much harder for a featherweight to move up and knock out a lightweight than it is for a cruiserweight to knock out a superheavyweight. The heavier weightclasses have more knockouts -- and I, for one, feel that Valuev will not see the end of this fight, either he gets stopped or repeatedly dropped.

 

That's the big question mark. I'm a fan of Haye, I've followed his career since he pulled out of the Commonwealth Games but I'm not convinced he can take a punch at HW. We shall see. Valuev is feather fisted and can be hurt by light punchers (Ruiz, for instance) but Haye's stamina remains a question mark and his chin might fold completely against even the weakest HW. It's not without precedent for those moving up from Cruiser.

We assume Valuev has a good beard cos very few have been able to reach it cleanly - although in fairness he's generally coped when he has been clipped.

What I find intruiging is that Haye will be trying to hit anything he can - body, chest and even arms as well cos those big ol' levers of Valuev's must get pretty heavy.

We've never seen Valuev hit round the temple etc (cos no-one can reach) - that can be really disorientating. Indeed if you look at Haye's own knockdowns they've been of that ilk. I can see Haye, with his leaping shots, aiming for that area as well - he will need to be careful though as the top of his head will be exposed.

I see Valuev getting hit like he's never been hit before and often - Haye mid rounds for me.

I think too much is being read into Solis KO'ing Barrett.

After all, Barrett was a year older, and hadn't fought since losing to Haye.

Haye is the hardest puncher p4p, of course he has a chance of knocking him out you stupid idiot.

 

I think Haye will win this by KO, Valuev is going to take a lot of flush power shots in this fight and no man is invincible. Valuev is too slow to counter Haye's quick punches, he is going to get hammered and his chin will eventually crack or the fight will be called off by the ref or his corner.
Haye's chin is suspect of course, but Valuev doesn't have the handspeed to deliver a flush power punch on Haye. Most of Valuev's connected punches I believe will be jabs, and that's not enough to KO Haye.
