Remember that 3 round tournament they held in 1993 for pro's ( Tony Tubbs was the winner) ?
3 rounds per fight with Pro rules.
Imagine if we had that and the 8 contenders were as follows ( all peak). 3 round fights.
They all fought each other on a round robin league table basis , with the top 2 contesting the final.
    Who'd the top 2 be ? Who'd win ? Who'd struggle?
    3 rounds so think carefully.
    Bowe
    Holyfield
    Tucker
    Bruno
    Foreman
    Holmes
    Lewis
    Tyson

Tyson wouldn't be easy to beat in a 3 rounder.

This is not so easy to predict, will have to think on it.
Makes a pleasant change to have an interesting heavyweight thread as opposed to the usual random nonsense we have been served up the past year or so.

    Tournament Champion

The tournament champion with a total of 6 wins is George Foreman!

What's funny is there wasn't one knockout in the entire tournament.

Good one Gordon. If its 3 round's I'm oreett pretty sure its a close one between Tyson ,Foreman or Lenny .The way Tyson used to start I'd say he wins most of em so I'll go for the Iron one .

    Thanks my man...
I was guessing folks would jump straight in with Mike...it's tempting but....
Even Bruno could be tough here. No stamina issues huge rock of a jab and who's gonna fly in at him and risk running into that right hand ?
Foreman will be popular but I could imagine some guys just jabbing and moving against him, Holyfield could be very good here. Lewis has all the tools but may start too slow in some fights, Holmes the same, Bowe will throw punches non stop , Tucker has the jab and movement he's got all the tools,
The more I thought about it the more I thought it could be a good thread :)

There's no right or wrong answers..my worry for those two is they may get off to a few slow starts ? But I can see where you're coming from..

Tyson's style is good for a 3 round tournament. Even Bruno.. It sure would speed up the fights.

HAHA, well. I think I would favor Tyson, as this is the way he naturally fought, for the most part. All the other guys would be adjusting to a 3 round war, where Tyson would be right a home. Obviously Foreman would be way up there in terms of people made for this type of fight, especially early Foreman. I suppose Holmes could jab his way to a tournament victory too. Nice thread.

I think lack of head movement means Foreman gets picked off by the jabbers ? Once you've won that first round it's a big step. It would suit George in so much as his gas tank would last but not sure it suits his overall style ?
