Watched this tournament on you tube from early 90's.
    A bigger version of prizefighter.
There should have been a 1 million dollar prize for the winner but the winner got 170 grand .
Tony Tubbs won it and sure looked a good boxer....nobody could lay a glove on him and fantastic handspeed.
Anyone else seen it ?.. Ribalta Biggs Bonecrusher Derek Williams to name a few were involved.

I didn't see it but saw that it was advertised before it happened back in the day. Later I read in Ring magazine that Tubbs had taken it. I also recall that the purse was significantly less than what was initially promised as you mentioned. Wonder if ticket sales were down.

Shocking event and rightly was totally mocked at the time. I think the infamous 'bareknuckle' champ Savage pulled out in the last minute and was replaced by some shocking Romanian.

Pro boxing never seems to learn that three rounders are for amateurs.

LOL, no that came after. When the what 47-0 (46) (How can you win a London Rules fight on points? It was as if something was not quite right) Savage finally decided to show what he had!
