I'd put Bute's odds at about 25% of winning the fight, and I see him winning by (T)KO if he did it sooo... 0-25% makes sense.

I don't see a KO in this fight ..This will be way too tactial ..Its Bute's offense vs Ward's defense ..

Both bute and ward have fought sluggers and brawlers. Neither have really faced "boxers". It's a matter of who makes the adjustment better. Also, I don't necessarily believe bute will be the offensive one. He might let ward take control to draw him in for counter punches. Really hard fight to predict. Could be close or a near shutout for either one. People say ward adapts very well but so does bute and again, neither are Really used to fighting this type of style so you can't use a froch or Andrade fight to see what could happen

Probably not worth the discussion. I only found out yesterday that you cannot have a sensible discussion with Bute fans about Bute.

But I don't see a KO in this fight, but there's always a chance.

    I agree, I don't think it's a high percentage.

Bute needs room to throw his punches, although he is good at giving himself room by stepping back to load up.

I think Ward smothers him, and this will take away some of Bute's power.

I think if Bute wins it will be by KO and IMO it's a 50/50 fight so I voted 25-50% chance of Bute by KO. Keep in mind Ward has been dropped by lesser punchers than Bute.

I was never really involved in a Bute discussion on this board until yesterday. And somehow it turned into the other guy arguing with me, calling me names, suggesting I go watch tennis... and ALL this without providing a single piece of evidence/information to support what he was saying.

All he wanted to get into was an "I'm right, your wrong" banter.

But yes, I did generalise. Because it was only 1 person. So my bad. It just put me off, cause I was being as rational as possibly could be.

If Ward mans up and fight Bute......100% chance Bute Kos him.......that said.....0-25%.....there's always the possibly of Ward finding his wife being cornholed by Bute and stepping up and getting his ass KTFO then Lucian tenderly slamming Wards ole lady as Andre lays next to the bed unconscious.:deal

Well, since you actually were wrong and didn't get the point (that is: Ward should be right now the top-ranked SMW, but he cannot be called undisputed since he hasn't fought all top contenders to prove effectively he is the best and his current #1 ranking reflects accurately his strength. In other words: there are clear unknowns about where to place Bute's boxing ability with respect to the other top 3 SMW fighters and the uncertainty cannot be resolved by just taking the best "as is" ranking having Ward at #1 right now and assuming its perfect correspondence with actual boxing abilities), some may have assumed it was for some bias of yours. Actually, it's a matter of clear distinction between rankings and real values scale and what one means by "undisputed".

Trying to understand better your interlocutor's point could have been of great help.

On: there is always a non-zero probability to see a KO in an eventual Bute-Ward fight. The actual value depends on many factors (essentially: fighting tactics and physical condition) and too much guessing would be involved if one would pick a definite answer right now.
