http://espn.go.com/new-york/story/_...sses-concern-magomed-abdusalamov-remains-coma "Mago is in my thoughts and prayers and I hope he recovers quickly," Perez said in a statement. "He fought like a true warrior. I'm happy to be victorious but my main concern is for his health." Nathan Lewkowicz, vice president of father Sampson Lewkowicz's promotional company, Sampson Boxing, which promotes Abdusalamov, told ESPN.com on Monday night that Adusalamov's condition remained stable. "Still stable in [intensive care], and his temperature is down to normal from where it was [Sunday], which was 104," Lewkowicz said.
Now with these brain injuries that they recover from but can never fight again with, does anyone know the long term effects? Like if Mago has a clear recovery and never fights again will he be pretty healthy down the line i guess a good example is what is Joe Mesi looking like in 2013
Not sure if you watch NFL, but concussions is the big issue. A lot of the players get out of the game and are fine, and some it really effects them for life. Whether it's boxing, football, etc you aren't made to take hits and have your brain rattled off your skull. Hope he's ok. I watched the fight again last night and the amazing thing was that even in round 10 with like 5-10 seconds to go, he was still throwing and landing shots. Amazing how these kind of effects show later on.
Is there even any question of whether he can fight on? Surely no sanctioning body would ever allow him to.
Why not wait and see what happens, we don't know anything about the severity or what the prognosis is. Just get the guy okay first.
Don't ever underestimate a fighter's ability to find a venue. Joe Mesi was able to. That saidÂ…hopefully he has some people in his corner who do care about his well being and not his ability to generate revenue who tell him it aint worth it.
It's sad to know he only made $40,000 for such a horrible experience. I hope he has a great insurance, otherwise he won't have any money left.
