Less than two weeks before his bantamweight clash against Vic Darchinyan, former IBF titlist Yhonny Perez expressed his desire to KO Darchinyan and then move on to the winner between Abner Mares and Joseph Agbeko.

Perez (20-1-1, 14 KOs) held a media workout today in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. to discuss his April 23 showdown with Dachinyan, which takes place in Los Angeles.

“I want my title back and the best way to do that is to win my next fight and then challenge the winner between (Joseph) Agbeko and (Abner) Mares,’’ Perez said. “Both Agbeko and Mares got a shot at my title and they were great fights. A rematch against either would be just as exciting as our first fight.”

Perez lost his title against Agbeko in his last outing via decision last December. It was a rematch from their Fight of the Year candidate in 2009. Now with Agbeko facing Mares in the bantamweight tournament, Perez is aiming to get back on track with a victory of his own.

“I’m totally recharged and ready to win by knockout. When I win this fight, I will be back in the game,” added Perez.

Perez fights like a ****ing robot. If he manages to win against Darchinyan it's due to his size advantage, and honestly Darchinyan might just be done.

Other than Perez size and abilty to take a beating, I don't see anything special about that robot.

I think I'm still going to go with the smaller Darchinyan. I know Mares beat him, but it was close, and I think Mares is an overall better fighter than Perez.

Perez will be eating left hand bombs the entire fight. I'm assuming due to his youth and size, he'll hold up like Mares, but he's going to take a beating whether he wins or not.

I'm not sure he will. It's not that he won't land some huge punches, he will, and often, it's just that I'm not sure his power is as credible at this weight as it was at lower weights.

Then again, I'm basing this off of Mares ability to absorb huge punches. Maybe Perez doesn't have that kind of jaw and heart. If not, then Darchinyan will KO him.

I think it will be Darchinyan decision though.

I'd wanna KO Darchinyan too. He's an arrogant little *****.
