Perfect example of why Mayweather was so great.

Not at all. Canelo was hit with a good shot, causing him to fall back into the ropes, Cotto landed some more shots with him on the ropes, but Canelo wasn't trying to hold on, he wasn't flailing around. He simply took the shots on the chin, fell into the ropes, then returned fire with 2 good right hands as he circled away.

You didn't miss me? @Wizbit1013 was dying for me to come back, he kept posting about me wondering when I would return. I'm still in his sig after nearly 6 months away. I had to come back for my peepz Lancy Pants.

He was rocked but he wasn't out on his feet flailing around trying to hold on for dear life. Canelo was also very young, wasn't close to his prime yet, like Mayweather was, and was fighting a fighter in his prime, unlike Floyd who was fighting a past it Mosley.

That was crazy, my house was about to fall over. Fun fact May and Mosley were both on the cover of KO mag in the late 90s calling for that one, but Shane was chasing Oskee for the mega money fight.

He was 23 years old 6/7 years a pro and undefeated was Canelo. Floyd was in his 30s well past his prime when he beat Shane who had scored arguably a career best win taking out Margarito in his previous fight.

He overcame adversity changed tactics took it to Mosley and beat the living daylights out of him.

It was a good win for Floyd but C'mon Mosley was well past his best. At 135 prime Mosley quite possibly could have destroyed the version of Floyd who should've lost to JLC

I do know Mosley knocked Margarito out in his previous fight in spectacular fashion. He caught Floyd who overcame it then outclassed him something the previously feared Margarito could not do.

C'mon lol Magarito blocks punches with his face and Mosley hits like a truck. Floyd has great defense and made excellent adjustments in that fight but to say it shows he would've dealt with a prime Mosley the exact same way is just ridiculous.

That’s not even what I am saying. To be clear prime Floyd would have dealt with prime Mosley the same way he dealt with Diego Corrales and stopped him.

Shane was 37 years old when he beat Margarito. 37 and 5 months old.

Shane was 38 years old when he fought Mayweather. 38 and 8 months old.

To put that into perspective, people are saying that Canelo is past his prime now at 32 pushing 33. Shame was almost 39 when he fought Floyd. He was well past his prime by then. 38 and 8 months Mosley wasn't shot, but a prime Mosley would have given Floyd 12 hard close rounds. Instead Mosley ran out of gas after the 2nd round flurry. Part of that is how good Floyd was, more of that was how past it Mosley was.

Yes the win over Margarito was a career defining win for Mosley, that was like a turn back the clock performance. That was like surprising because going into that people were thinking Shane was shot and would get punished by Antonio. Mosley turend back the clock that night, but also Margarito's pre-fight preparation was affected by the loaded gloves controversy. A fully allowed to have loaded gloves Margarito probably could have sent Shane into retirement. Glad that didn't happen, but it still wasn't the same Margarito with loaded gloves that hurt Cotto.

    Alternative descriptions for that clip:

    "floyd gets hurt by bum"
"floyd wobbled and almost stopped by a 40 year old"
"floyd saved by the bell after holding for dear life"

I think you have answered your own question and you will also remember Floyd was already past his peak when he beat Mosley.
