    The ref gave the champ a chance and Montiel got back up. As soon as Nonito landed a punch the ref jumped in to stop it. Montiel deserved the chance.

    Exactly. The was a PERFECT stoppage. That any fan of the sport would object to this is simply astounding. Not only do we have a problem in this sport with refs who panic and stop fights too soon, we have a problem with squeamish "fans" who encourage them. When I started watching boxing 35 years ago, this was much less of an issue.

    Refs who stop fights at exactly the right time, like this ref did, should be encouraged and applauded. Maybe some of these other refs who panic might take notice and more fights will be allowed to go to their NATURAL conclusions!!
