    @ welterweight....15 rounds.
    -Jose Mantequilla Napoles
    -Emile Griffith
    -Luis Manuel Rodriguez
    -Henry Armstrong

How does Pea stack up??? Against these all time welters...Can he upset any of them?

Not his best weight but he gives anyone fits.

I'd probably take him over Griffith and Armstrong, the other two are tougher matchup-wise.

    Only Napoles beats him.

And even this I'm not sure of... I can see his style troubling Napoles

Napoles beats him..I think Griffith would lose and then avenge the loss...Griff was great at avenging losses...and he was so strong and versatile.
I think he would narrowly top Rodriguez.....and probably split a couple with Armstrong.

Mantequilla's power would be a factor here...I'm sure he would have decked the Pea...maybe a couple of times.

Maybe, but Pea's jab would be controlling the fight and so would his movement.

I'm glad to see Whitaker getting some respect for being the tough out he was...Tough tough style to deal with...even for the welters.

At that weight, from that group of fighters Napoles, yes (was his best fighting weight, wasnt Whitaker's) Griffith, he was awkward but Pea would figure him out, Rodriguez, Pea defeats him. Armstrong, he was so busy, Pea wasn't a big puncher, I see Armstrong keeping Pea mainly defensive because of his aggressiveness Armstrong winning the dec.
