Pernell "sweet pea" Whitaker Vs Ricky Burns

    At lightweight. Who wins in this fantasy match up.

    Very impressed with the boy burns after dispatching King the other night.

    I don't think he would be able to land at will against the defensive wizardry of Pernell Whittaker. Pernell wins the majority of the first 8 rounds before Mr Burns work rate in the championship rounds catches the eye of the Vegas judges.

    As a result, the match most likely ends in a draw, with a lucrative rematch at stake. However, a SD on either side is possible.

    Thoughts? I think Burns takes him into deep waters with his heart & work rate, the likes of which Sweet Pea has never seen before. Don't get me wrong. Sweet pea is the better boxer but sometimes that's not enough.

    Pea was a terrific lightweight with underrated power. Everyone obviously knows how elite his technical and defensive abilities were. I'd favor pea by a shutout decision or late stoppage.
