Didn't he get outboxed by Quartey and Mosley? Ran from Tito and made to look like an amateur by Whitaker? And you think ole Fishnets is the "Fighter of the 90s"? :patsch

Yeah but I also think you're completely missing MY point. Holyfield was AS talented if not more. You could've said 'Bowe had the frame, jab PLUS the infighting ability to go with his durability. He could've done as much as Evander. But he loved eating and got his prime punched out of him'

You said 'he had more talent in his little finger than Holyfield had'

Can you see why I challenged you on it?

    No way was it that w i d e.

Even the judge for ole Fishnets' cheerleading squad, Harold Lederman, had Quartey up by a point.

    Ike got jobbed...

I see where you are coming from; the little finger remark was as stated meant to be a bit of poetic licence. My point was Bowe was not just physically more dominant than Holyfield, he was also more naturally talented.

Of course to be an Olympic medalist and a 190lbs and Heavyweight World Champion you clearly have to have exceptional talent, but despite everything being against him and losing the Bowe series, clearly Holyfield was ranked higher when deciding who was fighter of the decade.

That is why despite primed Whitaker and Jones being more talented, I can see an argument for putting de la Hoya above both them for the 90s.

Though he was at his absolute peak and his signature performances took place in 80's decade, his best accomplishments and career defining fights (ignoring the judges ridiculous decisions) took place in 90's decade. Winning 3 division titles with victories over Paez, Mcgirt, Pineda, Hurtado and Vasquez and controversial decisions against Chavez and ODH. He would be 1b to 1a Roy Jones Jr, to close to decide though Jones was at the absolute peak of his powers in the decade.

Those fights were not let downs he beat Whittaker dont let any of his nuthugging fans tell you diffrent. Also came through against Quartey when he needed too. Was dissapointing to see him run the last 2 rounds against Tito, but he was brilliant the first 9 rounds.

Hm, Pea, Jones and DLH should be the Top3 in my oppinion. Lewis, Holyfield, Trinidad, Michaelchweski, Chavez, Mosley, Lopez, Tszyu, Nelson, Hamed, Toney, Norris and some more have arguments for the Top10.
