    PBF is a better defensive fighter simply for the fact he wasn't off balanced like Pea and was usually in a position to counter unlike Pea. PBF was a much better counter puncher than Pea was. Pea also was knocked down much more than PBF was. This is not a knock on Pea who's a top 3 ATG defensive fighter and a H2H terror to boot.

    That's true, definitely has better balance than Pea - I feel like Mayweather is the more technically sound defensive boxer, more to the book, but Whitaker was the better overall and was not so much 'to the book' at all, which made his defense reach heights I haven't seen from any other boxer, ever.

    It's shame Pea didn't have PBF's discipline out of the ring and let himself go into drugs. He could've had atleast another 2 or 3 years at the top if he didn't. With that said he won't be the first and he won't be the last boxer who shortened his career due to drugs.

    Would have loved to see him test this claim against Duran at 140 and Hearns and Leonard at 146.

    Also, altering his resume against Chavez and Oscar does not help the OP's argument.

    I believe it does. I'm not giving fighters credit for decisions they didn't deserve. Oscar-Whitaker is like a win for both guys, it's just not right to say anyone lost that one. Chavez-Whitaker was a major robbery. I'm not counting it against Whitaker because some fat greedy judge wanted a paycheck. Corruption will not win.

    Mayweather and Whitaker would both lose to Duran, Leonard, Hearns and Napoles.

    I personally felt he arguably beat Oscar .

    Whitaker was one of the best ever at defense. He can claim to be the best at it and not have too many boxing fans question it.
