    Whitaker v Pacquaio. 135lbs, 140lbs and 147lbs.

Any difference in the outcome across these three weights?

Whitaker by WIDE decision at any weight. He's by far the more crafter southpaw, with pretty good speed himself of both hand and foot. We know his defensive capabilities.

My god, did you see Cotto land his jab at will on Saturday Night? Pernell's jab was on a different planet, expect wide scorecards.

    Whitaker wins at 135lbs.

I'm not sure if he wins at 147lbs. I think Pacquiao's speed and rapid footwork would be enough for a good decision win. Pacquiao is much faster at the weight and Whitaker never looked great here.

    140lbs is very close.

He looked good enough to arguably beat a peak Oscar De La Hoya.

That doesnt make sense to me.

What makes you think 5 pounds is going to make the difference between a win and a close fight?

Especially when Pea looked great against McGirt and Chavez at an even higher weight.

Again...David Diaz...Ricky Hatton...the corpse of De la Hoya...and Miguel Cotto.

Why are these performances now all of a sudden getting people to pick Manny over Pernell freaking Whitaker?

    So?

Pacquiao is a harder fight than De La Hoya because of his physical attributes and style. Pacquiao is faster and much less robotic. Honestly, De La Hoya was made for a slick guy like Whitaker, who should have done a real number on him.

You think Pacquiao is a harder fighter than prime Oscar De La Hoya? I disagree. His physical attributes? Prime Oscar could shoe shine even faster than Manny, and of course he was taller, and always came into fights in unbelievable shape. I pick Whitaker to beat Pacquiao on point by wide margins, and I pick prime Oscar to stop Pacquiao at 147lbs.

    At lightweight:

Whitaker by wide, wide UD. Dominant win. Pea lands jab at will, completely outboxes Pac for 5 or 6 rounds, then becomes a little more purposeful in his attacks, start firing out combinations, standing his ground more, and outfights him for the remainder of the fight. Pea loses maybe 2 rounds at most, most probably as Pac gets desperate and attacks like crazy near the end, maybe lands a big punch or two as Pea is careless because he doesn't fancy backtracking too much, but at the final bell Pac's face is the face of a battered fighter, and Pea is wearing his favourite grin.

At 140, the fight and result are more or less the exact same, I'm talking of scorelines like 118-110.

At 147, I still don't see it being very different. Maybe Pac is a little stronger than Pea here, maybe Pea moves and boxes for the whole fight rather than stand and trade for the latter half. Or maybe the fight pans out the same way. Even if it doesn't, I still see the score as being roughly the same, say 117-111 at ww. I don't think any out of the three fights would get as close as 116-112.

Whitaker wins all weight divisions. At 147, the fight becomes a 60-70/30-40 for Whitaker but the rest I have more confidence in a Whitaker win.

Two southpaws going at each other.

Speed and power determines the fights.

Pea better have his bad-ass game face on.
